On Saturday 13th May, we will be holding our annual trials and looking to add players to our already talented youth team set up for the 2023/24 season.

Camberley Town operate at very successful youth system and next season will be running a team again in the Isthmian Youth League and the Allied Counties Youth League. No other team in the area has such access to these leagues. We firmly believe that the Isthmian Youth League is the best level of football out side of professional academy football and that combined with the ACYL team it makes it an excellent combination to enhance the careers of talented individuals.

In the 2018/19 season NINE of the U18 squad represented the first team in the Combined Counties. In the 2019/20 season EIGHT youth team players featured for the first team. This demonstrates our clubs culture of ‘giving youth a chance’, then again in the 2020/21 season despite a distrupted 1st team campaign due to Covid-19 we saw another SIX players step up and feature for the 1st team. In the 2021-22 season EIGHT youth team players made their first team debuts. Then again in 2022-23 we had TEN U18 players represent the club at 1st Team level. We firmly believe that if you are good enough you are old enough and our First Team set-up, has demonstrated this. The number of graduates into our first team, is significantly more than any other team in the area or at our level, in terms of this there is no other rival to Camberley Town.

Actions speak louder than words.  We give youth a chance. Book your place on our trials, perhaps you could be the next player to shine in our system.

Why Camberley Town

Why Camberley Town?

Coaching Staff

Our Youth Team coaching staff have extensive experience of this level. Our Youth Team Head Coach, Craig Green, will be in his 16th year at the club. He has no family member playing and has no allegance to any one player, he just acts with the best interests of the club, this makes Camberley different to 9/10 Youth Teams. In his time at Camberley, Craig has a proven track record of getting players through our Youth Team and in to our First Team, since 2011/12 he has overseen 82 players make the step up into our first team to play in the Combined Counties and 101+ players into senior football.  He will be supported by a whole host of other experienced coaches, some new and others exisiting. One thing is for certain, no other team in this area, will have a coaching staff more expereicneced than ours at leading and preparing a team at this level.

We know what it takes to be successful at this level, we know the challenges that we will face this season, that sets us ahead of the start up teams who are making a fresh start. Why risk your future with someone or a team new to this, when you could join our team and be in the safe and experienced hands of our coaches?

The Club and it's History

Camberley Town have one youth teams entered into the Isthmian Youth League (Ryman Youth League). We are the only team in the area to operate at this level. There is no doubt that the Isthmian Youth League is the best league at under 18 level, it physically and technically prepares our payers for first team football, in a way that no other league can. So being the only team in the area and only one of two Combined Counties League sides to have spots in this league, we are uniquely place to provide the structure and opportunity for player progression. This makes our Youth set up unrivalled in the area. We routinely play full time National League academies in the Isthmian League. We consistently punch above our weight in the challenge we take on.

In the Isthmian Youth League we have finished in the top four, four times out of the seven times we have been in the league, finishing as runners up with a record points total in 2013-14 and winning the league in 2018-19, and were unbeaten last season when the season was curtailed.

On the pitch in the FA Youth Cup we’ve regularly reach the first round proper of the FA youth Cup. We have taken Dover (National League) and Bristol Rovers (league 2 at the time) to extra time and been drawn away to Colchester United. We have been the last Combined Counties Club in the FA Youth Cup seven times out of the last nine seasons. In the 2020-21 season we reached the 2nd round proper for the first ever time and beat Bristol Rovers (League 1) away 3-2.

In the 2021-22 season we won the Hampshire Cup Final beating Havant & Waterlooville 2-0 in the final, the team also won defended the Ranyer Challenge Cup and finished runners up in the Isthmian Youth League.

In the 2022-23 season, at the time of writing we are in the Semi Final of the Hampshire Cup, due to play Gosport or Sholing for a place in the final. The ACYL team sit top of the league with four games to play and the Isthmian Youth League team are second with six still to play. The team have reached the Semi Final of the ACYL Cup and are still in the GM Cup.

Your education

You can study A-level’s and still play for Camberley as this is not a related to an education course. We are totally independent of any post 16 football scheme and are just a semi-professional football club run with a professional mind set and attitude.

You can follow whatever education path that you would like to do. Our coaching staff are well connected in the local area. We have provided references for job applications and USA scholarship applicants and also have supported the production of their UCAS references.

Your education is important to us and we will support you in any way we can.
