- Camberley
clinched their second trophy in two days when the 1st team
were taken to penalties following a 3-3 draw after 120
minutes of football by a very good Badshot Lea side.
Camberley had to come from behind three times. Badshot Lea
took the lead after 37 minutes through a Rob Westell
strike. Camberley levelled six minutes into the second
half when Dan Ker's free kick was helped into the back of
the net by a Badshot Lea defender. The game went into
extra time after ending 1-1 after 90 minutes. In the 99th
minute Michael Harper put Badshot Lea back in from only
for Camberley's Tom McGarry to equalise from the penalty
spot four minutes later. On 111 minutes Badshot Lea struck
again with a clinical finish from Brad Smith but with just
2 minutes left Joe Paris was on hand to toe poke the ball
past the keeper to take the game to penalties. Camberley
converted all five of their penalties and Badshot Lea saw
Carl Clayton save their second penalty as Camberley went
on to clinch the penalty shoot 5-4. REPORT

this evening between Camberley Town, as hosts and Ash
Rangers, this seasons Champions of the Aldershot &
District Sunday League. With the first team playing in the
Senior Cup Final tomorrow, Camberley fielded what was
mainly the Reserve XI. In a close match, Camberley took
the lead early in the second half when Graham Townsend
latched onto Matt Chesterman's through ball and lobbed the
ball over the keeper and in. The result was put beyond
doubt in the final few minutes when Jason Reeves fired
home from 8 yards to make it 2-0. REPORT

ended their league season with a 3-2 win at Egham Town.
Camberley took a first half lead with John Finneston side
footed home but Egham hit back before the break to level
the scores. The lead was regained from the penalty spot
thanks to Tom McGarry. Camberley looked to have added a
third when Dan Ker acrobatically fired home but the goal
was disallowed for a push. With only four minutes
remaining Egham looked to have earned a point when Levi
Coleman slotted home but in the last minute of regulation
time Martyn Williams headed home from close range to
secure the win. REPORT

|
|
- The Reserves
were not so lucky against Burgess Hill. The visitors took
the lead only for Graham Townsend, returning from injury,
to level things just before half time. Burgess Hill proved
too strong in the second half and scored twice to secure a
3-1 win and in the process, leap over AFC Wimbledon who
lost at Tooting & Mitcham 2-0, and clinch the South
Division title.

clinical with their finishing. Jon Hill and Gary Senior
scored in the first half to give the visitors a 2-0 lead
at the break. Sean Hillier and Jon Hill again put the game
beyond Camberley to win 4-0. Camberley's best chance saw

- Five goals,
three penalties, two attacking teams and a sending off
made for an tense and exciting Semi Final in the Aldershot
Senior Cup at Youngs Drive. Ash United took an early lead
with a glancing header from Matt Morris. It looked as if
Ash would go in 1-0 up at the break but with a minute of
the half remaining Mitch While leveled the scores.
Camberley then took the lead early in the second half with
Joe Paris scoring his first goal for the club. Ash
equalised halfway through the second half with a Gavin
Evans penalty from an offence that saw Jamie Hoppitt given
his marching orders. Ash were then awarded a second
penalty which Chris Foster saved. The game was won in the
final minute by Camberley with the third penalty of the
match which Tom McGarry tucked away. Badshot Lea now await

Allied Counties side finished their home campaign with a
win against Hungerford Town. David Clarke had a chance to
open the scoring inside the opening 10 minutes but saw his
lob hit the crossbar. The deadlock was broken halfway
through the first half when Alan White curled a free kick
round the defensive wall and into the top left hand
corner. David Clarke hit the woodwork again in the second
half and Camberley had to cope with a Hungerford fightback
before clinching the three points. The win sees Camberley
return to the top of the table after Binfield were awarded
the points for an unplayed game last week.

1-0 win at near neighbours Cove. Cove had the better of

- In a very
close tussle which could have gone either way, Camberley
had Alex Jeffers to thank as he struck six minutes from
time to secure a 1-0 win. Ash had the better of the first
half chances but neither side could break the deadlock in
the first half. With moments to go before the break Ash
had Chris Rose sent off for what was deemed by the referee
to be a punch. Tom McGarry took the penalty which was
saved by former Krooner Chris Andrews. The second half saw
Camberley take advantage of the extra man. Dan Ker hit the
post with a free kick before Alex Jeffers fired home the
winner.

- So close but
so far for the Reserves at Walton Casuals. Casuals took a
15th minute lead through Jim Berry but within two minutes
Camberley hit back through David Clarke. Clarke struck
again just before the half time break to give Camberley
the lead. The side played well and held out and looked set
for a win but in the 5th minute of stoppage time and with

the equaliser to make it 2-2.

ten match unbeaten run came too an end at Raynes Park Vale
this evening. With Paul Dadson, Jason Milletti, Jamie
Hoppitt all missing from defence and Joe Paris missing
from the middle of the park, Camberley had to shuffle the
team around and decided to go with a 4-3-3 formation.
Camberley had a good first half and went in at the break
level thanks to an excellent strike from Mitch While which
cancelled out an early strike from Dan Stevens for the
Vale. Raynes Park Vale struck twice through Greg Levene
and Gary Knowelden in the space of eight minutes midway
through the second half to take a 3-1 lead. A Mitch While
strike on 84 minutes saw an exciting finish but Camberley
could not breach the Vale defence again.

finally got played this evening. The first leg match,
which took place back in November saw Dorking take a 2-0

Dorking then struck either side of half-time to virtually
put the tie beyond Camberley but back they came. Hadley
Paine levelled things on the night and then David Clarke
struck again to give Camberley the lead. Camberley pressed
late on for a fourth goal that would have taken the game
into extra time and missed a great chance from 6 yards but
Dorking held on to take the tie 4-3 on aggregate.

on 88 minutes to volley home and clinch a point for the
hosts.

took a dent as they had a player sent off just before the

John Finneston but it was ruled out for offside In the
final 10 minutes Cobham staged a fightback. They were
rewarded with a goal from leading scorer Mark Knight and

- A game of
two halves saw honours shared as Camberley drew 1-1 at
home to Banstead Athletic. Camberley had by far the better
of the first half, taking the lead after 7 minutes through
an Alex Jeffers volley. Banstead were restricted to just a
couple of efforts. The one that was on target found it's
way into the back of the net on 44 minute as the Premier
Division's leading scorer, Marcus Campbell pounced on a
loose ball. Banstead had the better of the second half and
Camberley have Carl Clayton to thank for the point after
one top quality save to deny Clive Zammit a winner. MATCH

- The reserves
made it four games without defeat as the youth players in
the squad impressed during the 3-1 win at Haywards Heath
Town. Camberley got off to a good start as Hadley Paine
gave Camberley the lead after 6 minutes. David Clarke
added another spectacular strike to his collection as he
doubled Camberley's lead after just 12 minutes. Haywards
Heath pulled a goal back on 55 minutes and threatened an
equaliser as they fought back in the second half but an
Adam Mingay goal five minutes from time (his first since
he was 9 evidently) made the game safe for the Krooner's.
James Fishlock had a great chance to make it four in the
final few minutes but was unable to convert from close
range. The win elevates Camberley up into fifth place in
the table.

the club come from the brink of bankruptcy to a stable
financial position. He has seen some high's and low's, the
main high was seeing the Club reach the 1st Round proper
of the F.A. Cup in 1998. Ian will remain at the Club as
Vice Chairman.

- A poor start
to each half cost Camberley dear as they crashed to a 4-0
defeat at Merstham. The opening goal came after just 91
seconds when Kevin Lock slotted the ball past Clayton.
Kwabana Agyei added a second after 6 minutes. Camberley

- A double
strike by Alex Jeffers made sure that Camberley left
Bedfont with all three points. Camberley had by far the
better of the first half but were unable to hit the
target. John Finneston almost marked his debut with a goal
on 63 minutes but for a fine save from former Camberley
youth keeper Gary Phillips. Alex Jeffers, following up,
made sure that Camberley had the lead by forcing the ball
home from close range. On 88 minutes Camberley added the
second. Tom McGarry's cross from the right was superbly
taken down and controlled by Jeffers before he planted the
ball past Phillips. Paul Reed reduced the deficit in the
90th minute, firing home a free kick and thus gave
Camberley a nervous 7 minutes of stoppage time

- Camberley
have been looking to add to their first team squad with a
number of players set to leave for foreign lands. Sam
Rafique is on his way to Poland this week. Hopefully his
suspension due from his sending off last week will not
hamper his football too much. Adam Galvin will shortly be
on his way to Australia and Chris Bazen is on his way to
the United States on a 2 year football scholarship, we
wish them all the best. As a result, Manager Paul Barry
has been scouring the transfer market. Dan Tilson has
signed from Reading Town but injury may keep him out of
the squad for Bedfont this weekend. John Finneston looks
set to sign from neighbours Cove in time to make the squad
for Saturday. John won't be the first member of his family
to play in a Camberley shirt. Father Steve, the ex-Chelsea
player, appeared and scored in a pre-season friendly for
the Krooners back in the early 90's. Paul has also got his
eyes set on a couple of other players ... details to
follow another day.

- Camberley
suffered an agonising defeat at the hands of North
Greenford United in the El Records Premier Cup. Camberley
took an early lead through Rob Lance after just 5 minutes
but North Greenford fought back to level the scores
through Jon Hill on 19 minutes. Two quick goals on 34
minutes and 36 minutes saw Camberley go 3-1 up. The first
coming via a Scott Raper own goal and the other from
Martyn Williams. As so often this season, a two goal
margin was not enough Ryan Newton reduced the deficit on
39 minutes. Camberley kept their shape in the second half
and looked to be on their way into the fourth round when
in the 90th minute Jon Hill struck to send the game into
extra time. The first goal in extra time was always going
to be crucial and it went to North Greenford. Jon Hill
completing his hat-trick on 105 minutes. Camberley had to
push forward in the second period of extra time but were
caught on the break on 116 minutes by Liam Chambers who
made the game safe for North Greenford. Final Score
5-3

- Camberley
progressed to the 3rd Round of the Aldershot Senior Cup
with a 3-1 win over Wrecclesham. Wrecclesham gave
Camberley an early scare when they took a 7th minute lead
through Kevin Annett's strike. Camberley hit back and
levelled the scores through a well place Sam Broadbent
shot on 16 minutes and then took the lead with an Adam
Galvin free kick on 25 minutes. Camberley had the chances
to extend the lead but could not take them. With
Wrecclesham battling away, they were always in with a
chance, especially following a sending off for Camberley's
Samir Rafique. The game was put beyond doubt on 88 minutes
when Chris Bazen ran on to a quickly taken Dan Ker free
kick to send a dipping shot over the keeper. Camberley now
meet Ashford Town (Middx) at home in the next round.

- Despite very
wet conditions, this was an excellent match with both
teams trying to keep the ball down and it was played in
good spirit. Both sets of players deserve to be credited
for their effort. Unfortunately the rain kept coming down
and the referee decided to called the match off at half
time with the pitched waterlogged to the point that it
would be dangerous to continue.
