As mentioned in the presentation article. The bulk of the
Allied Counties side for this season is moving up to the
Ryman Youth League next season and will be managed by Tim
Pearson and Craig Green. The club have decided to continue
to run two under 18 sides and the other one will take their
place in the Allied Counties Youth League Premier Division
next season. Regrettably, the SYL team management of Colin
Pack and Andy North have decided not to continue next
season. Andy will be staying with the club in the Reserve
team Assistant Manager role. Colin is taking a break from
football for a while but it is hoped that he will return to
Camberley Town in one form or another in the future. In the
meantime, Camberley Town are looking to appoint a new
management team to take the new ACL side into their first
ever ACL Premier Division campaign. All interested parties

It had been expected that the new club Windsor FC would be
placed in the Hellenic League. A week ago the new club,
formed out of the ashes of the old Windsor & Eton FC, were
notified by the Football Association that they would be
starting in the national league system at level 5, two
levels below the old clubs level and that they would be
placed in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League
instead of the expected Hellenic League. The club now have
to negotiate a lease with the Crown Estate for the Stag
Meadow ground, and have it in place by June 20th when the
Combined Counties League have their AGM. If they are
accepted and Farnham Town and South Park are promoted given
they have passed their ground grading it could be bad news
for Bookham who may well be relegated to Division One. .. |

Camberley held their End of Season Presentation evening at
the impressive facilities of Camberley Heath Golf Club. Over
120 people were there
for what was a celebration of another successful season.
Camberley Heath Golf Club kindly donated tickets for a round
of golf for four people and a short quiz was held to give
away the tickets followed by the meal. The Club's award
ceremony started soon after with the Allied Counties
management team of Tim Pearson and Craig Green taking the
stage. After a number of thanks to those helping out behind
the scenes and a run down of the season which included
congratulations to Kieran Carey for being the leagues top
scorer and to Stuart Norman for conceding just 10 goals in
the 16 league matches this season. The core of the side will
be progressing on to the Ryman Youth League next season with
Tim and Craig running the side again. The awards were
awarded as follows :-
Before the two managers left the stage they were presented with a framed shirt by two players, on behalf of the entire squad to thank them for their management of a successful season. The Awards continued with the Southern Youth team management of Colin Pack and Andy North taking the stage. It was an even more successful season that last season which many didn't think possible. For the second season running the Southern Youth League side won the West Division which this season was much stronger, dropping just two points, scoring 113 goals and achieving a +100 goal difference. The lads then went on to win the overall Championship shield, again for a second season running, beating the champions of the other two divisions. The lads also reached the final of the Hampshire Invitational Floodlit Youth Cup where they narrowly lost out 2-1 to an Aldershot Town side featuring 18 full time players. Next season will see a side mainly of the new intake of players through the Youth trials compete in the Nescafe Allied Counties League Premier Division. The main awards for the Southern Youth league squad were as follows:-
There was also a Special Achievement award for SAM LAUNAY who kept 13 clean sheets throughout the season. Before Colin and Andy left the stage they too were presented with two signed, framed photographs of the team celebrations after winning the overall championship for the second season running. A ten minute break to top up the refreshments was followed by the presentations for the Suburban League side for refreshment and food followed which included an excellent hog roast. At 9:15 the Presentations resumed following the draw for the 100 Club done by Jane Wilson. Paul Miles and his assistant Andy North then took the stage to go through their season with the Reserve Team. This season has been the second best ever in the Suburban League which saw the side finish 6th in the North Division after climbing up into 3rd following an eleven match unbeaten run which also features 10 victories and saw the most points, most goals and best goal difference for 30 years. 65 players were used in total which included 22 players from the Youth squads. The awards for the Reserve team were as follows :-
The First team were the next up for the awards with Manager's Darren Barnard and Paul Miles Paul Barry taking the stage. Darren, doubling up with his Club Managers duties gave thanks to a number of people for their work behind the scenes including the two physio's, Gary Mist (unavailable due to getting married - Congratulations Gary from all at the Club) and Kirsty Brooks (who was presented with a bouquet of flowers from the players), the management teams of Paul Davies, Andy North, Colin Pack, Tim Pearson and Craig Green, to Ben Clifford for his secretarial work and Russell Kirkwood for organising the fixtures extremely well in an overcrowded end of season (If I have missed anyone from the list I apologise.). The First Team awards were as follows:-
The last but one selection of awards were the Club awards. Chairman Ronnie Wilson stepped up to award these and they were as follows :-
The night ended with three special achievement awards which were given to one member from each of the ACL, SYL and Senior Squads. They were awarded to Stuart Norman for clean sheets in most of his matches, conceding just one goal every two matches on average. To Matt Barclay for scoring 42 goals for both SYL and Reserve teams this season in all matches and to Paul Dadson for his long service to the club. He made approximately 200 appearances for both 1st and Reserves for the club.

Combined Counties League Premier Division It was always going to be a difficult task, winning at Cove, especially considering their recent improved for but Camberley went their needing a win to clinch third place. And for a time it looked as if that would be achieved. Camberley grabbed the long awaited 100th league goal of the season (this first time in the Club's history that this has been achieved) when Michael Blount latched on to a loose ball following a corner to lash the ball home on 22 minutes. Four minutes later Dan Simmonds extended the lead, breaking through on the left hand side of the Cove defence to slide his shot across the keeper and in at the back post. Cove hit back ten minutes later with a shot from 30 yards which somehow managed to find its way past Chris Foster in the Camberley goal and then on the stroke of half time former Krooner Tom McGarry slotted home a penalty to level things. Both sides could have snatched victory in the second half but the game finished all square. With Molesey winning at Mole Valley it means a fourth place finish for Camberley. .. |

Camberley had the better of the early possession and chances and eventually took the lead on 32 minutes when Keaton Landess put Gavin Muir through to score with a thumping finish into the top left hand corner of the net. Camberley stepped up a gear early in the second half to prevent a Sandhurst fight back and duly scored a second. Gavin Muir on hand again to score after latching on to a long pass from Ian Messenger. One minute later it became three when Jamie Madden cut in from the wing to send a shot over the keeper and into the top corner of the net. (1) 1 : Nescafe Allied Counties League South Division With the Southern Youth League side putting themselves in a great position to clinch their championship, the Allied Counties clinched the South DIvision title and promotion to the Premier DIvision for next season with a 1-1 draw at Thatcham Town. Sam Slater, who got the winner at Krooner Park against Thatcham at the end of March was on hand again to clinch the all important point for Camberley with his third goal of the season in the first half. After winning the ball in midfield, Sam Slater sprinted clear of the Thatcham defence to slide his shot home. It looked as if Camberley were all set to clinch a win but in the final moments Thatcham levelled the score when Conor Southgate drove home a loose ball to equalise. U-18's (0) 0 : Southern Youth League Championship Play Offs Camberley produced an excellent result against the side that knocked them out of the Southern Youth League Cup earlier this season and put themselves in an excellent position to retain the Championship title won last season. Kyle Wilkie put Camberley on their way after 14 minutes finishing off a five man move which took us from one end of the pitch to the other. Kyle nearly made it two a few minutes later when he hit the crossbar. There was not much between the sides but two goals either side of the half time break saw Camberley take control Mark Allen volleyed home number two on 43 minutes and Jacob Peace struck a minute into the second half to make it three. Two goals in a minutes and a half put the result beyond doubt. Tom Hickey made it four on 53 minutes and soon after Matt Barclay scored with a tap in. Division Camberley were held by Fleet but the feeling is that we should have won this one. The performance like a few over the past couple of weeks was below the standards we have set ourselves this season and we found ourselves 0-0 at the break without really getting going and we had a goal disallowed for a tenuous offside decision. The second half saw Fleet punt the ball downhill on a number of occasions and from one of these, Sam Berridge was harshly judges to have brought down a Fleet striker in the penalty area. Fleet duly converted the 75th minute penalty. Camberley suddenly woke up and started to dominate the game and five minutes later Rob Lance set up Jon Ashford to score the equaliser. The winner though, just would not come. .. |

Camberley took the lead on 40 minutes with Josh Gostage scoring the team's 100th league goal of the season with an excellent strike. Camberley still had time to add the second before the break when Jacob Peace drove home a free kick. Jacob Peace started the second half as he ended the first, with a goal. This one an excellent low shot from just outside the penalty area. Connor Bloomfield wrapped up the scoring for Camberley with the fourth midway through the half. Although Fleet had more of the goalscoring chances, Camberley gave as good as they got. 11 minutes from time Fleet were able to extend their lead when Darren Wheelers shot at goal was cleared off the line but rebounded back off Chris Foster and in. Camberley did not give up though and Matt Griffiths forced a save from the Fleet keeper which was spilled and Rob Lance pounced to stab the ball in from close range. Camberley applied the early pressure but had to wait until just before half time when Jay Warden and Kyle Wilkie combined to set up Jacob Peace to score. Cranleigh change tactics and formation in the second half and looked more positive but further goals from Matt Barclay and Kyle Wilkie secured the points for Camberley. With Bedfont Sports game against Cove being postponed, the win now gives us a five point lead at the top of the table. .. |

The ball eventually found its way to Josh Gostage who fired a low shot into the left hand bottom corner of the net. Thatcham hit back and were level inside 10 minutes with a good move down the right wing that saw the Camberley keeper beaten at his near post. Frimley Green hit back with a well taken goal from a former Krooner - Danny Fisher. The lead lasted about 10 minutes before Matt Barclay equalised with his 25th goal of the season. With the least kick of the first half, Bedfont Sports retook the lead following a flowing move down the right wing and a top quality finish. It became 2-0 on 18 minutes when Matt Griffiths played a delicate ball through for Martin Girling to pass the ball with the outside of his boot, past the keeper and just inside the post. It was Michael Smith again on 41 minutes, using his strength to unsettle the Mole Valley centre back as he tried to guide the ball back to his keeper and Smith was able to win the ball and slot home number three. Mole Valley played much better in the second half and pulled a goal back with 15 minutes to go when Jay Holden scored from close range after Chris Foster could only parry a shot away. Counties League Premier Division A game with a bit of controversy with a well converted penalty resulting in a goal kick being awarded and two sending off's and eight bookings dished out. Camberley were awarded a penalty midway through the first half for a foul on Michael Smith. Joe Paris struck the penalty home, a clear yard inside the post but the ball managed to find a hole in the net, hit the concrete wall at the back and bounced back into play. Both the referee and his assistant were looking for encroachment and were not sure if the ball had gone in or not and initially awarded a goal kick believing the ball had gone wide. After a Camberley protest and five minutes hold up to fix the net, the goal kick stood. Fortunately it was not to cost Camberley as on 35 minutes, Darren Redwood's free kick was knocked down into the path of Dale Webb and his driven cross came off the leg of Sandhurst defender Ross Hogston and rebounded into the net to give Camberley the lead. The game was effectively made safe on 55 minutes when Adam Cornell glanced home a corner for 2-0. On 65 minutes, Sandhurst were reduced to 10 men when ex-krooner Toby Jannaway was sent off for a second bookable offence and within a minute Camberley were 3-0 up. Matt Griffiths effort hit the crossbar and Paul Andrews followed up to head home his first Camberley goal. The referee's assistant signalled that the ball did cross the line and the referee awarded the goal. 2 : Hampshire Invitational Floodlit Youth Cup Semi Final After extra time - 2-2 after 90 minutes Camberley reached the final of the Hampshire Floodlit Youth Cup following a high quality exciting match at Krooner Park this evening. Camberley took the lead from the penalty spot after 11 minutes through Mark Bird after Jacob Peace was tripped. Camberley continued to have the better of the first half but Havant & Waterlooville hit back in the second half. They equalised on 47 minutes and started to dictate play. On 80 minutes Havant scored what many thought would be the winning goal but Camberley hit back within a minute when Jacob Peace ran on to a through ball and lobbed the keeper. The momentum of the game started then to go Camberley's way but neither side could score again inside 90 minutes so the game went to extra time. On 103 minutes Jacob Peace struck again with a 20 yard curving strike to give Camberley the lead. A couple of minutes into the second period of extra time Camberley clinched the final berth when Jamie Madden made a crossfield run and then sent a dipping shot over the keeper and into the top corner of the net. A top quality goal to cap a quality performance. .. |

CAMBERLEY TOWN (1) 2 HANWORTH VILLA (1) 1 : Cherry Red
Records Combined Counties League Premier Division Camberley edged past Hanworth Villa to go fourth. Camberley rode their luck as Hanworth had the better of the first half. The opening goal came against the run of play when Lee Higgs pulled off a superb save on the goal line to deny Camberley a goal. The only problem was that he was the left back and not the keeper. He was shown a red card and Dan Simmonds stepped up to slot home the penalty for Camberley. Hanworth were level four minutes later when a player who was clearly in an offside position laid the ball back to Rocky Farnden to strike home the equaliser. Camberley snatched the win with a scrambled goal. Martin Girling was in the right place at the right time to tap in following a good save from the keeper. Despite being down to 10 men Hanworth can consider themselves unlucky not to have left with a point. .. |

Knaphill had the better of the play and deserved their win. There was not a lot between the sides and the first goal was always going to be crucial, and came on 63 minutes when Liam Welch put the visitors ahead. CHESSINGTON & HOOK UNITED (0) 1 CAMBERLEY TOWN (3) 3 : Cherry Red
Records Combined Counties League Premier Division Camberley made it nine wins on the road with a 3-1 win at Chessington & Hook. The match had been moved on 24 hours to facilitate a number of our players attending a funeral yesterday. We arrived to find out that one of the Chessington & Hook Under 17/Reserve players had committed suicide that morning and a two minute silence was observed for both people. Our hearts and commiserations go out to the two families involved. The game itself saw Camberley take a 13th minute lead when Michael Blount (left) blasted one of his trademark free kicks through the wall and past the keeper. The lead was extended with an unstoppable effort from Darren Redwood that left the keeper rooted to the spot as it flew in and the game was effectively won on 43 minutes when Dan Simmonds left fly for his second goal in as many games to make it 3-0 on 43 minutes. Chessington & Hook pulled a goal back via a Scott Todd penalty on 50 minutes but Camberley held firm to register all three points. .. |

Senior Cup 3rd Round (played at Krooner Park) Camberley progressed to the Quarter Finals of the Aldershot Senior Cup despite thick fog at Krooner Park which made the game a bit of a farce as a spectacle goes. The referee was able to see both goals from the half way line so was correct in his decision to finish the game. Camberley took the lead after 16 minutes following a stooping header from Michael Blount. Camberley continued to have the better of the play but were stung shortly before half time when Steve Ramsden equalised for the Yateley Green. The lead was re-established for Camberley three minutes into the second half when Michael Smiths effort was deflected into his own net by a defender. Yateley showed great spirit and in thickening fog found themselves 3-2 up with just over 10 minutes to go thanks to goals from Gareth Evans on 68 minutes and Steve Ramsden again on 79 minutes. Their lead lasted just 2 minutes as Adam Cornell lashed home the equaliser. Camberley regained the lead on 88 minutes from the penalty spot through Michael Smith and in stoppage time Martin Girling made sure there would be no shock result by adding the fifth. Camberley had plenty of chances to have won the game early on but had to make do with just one first half goal, a cheek 18 yard lob from Jake Yarranton. Records Combined Counties League Premier Division Camberley had a great opportunity to put themselves back in the hunt for a top two finish but blew the chance with one of their poorest performances of the season so far. Camberley got off to a good start and went ahead after 8 minutes through Matt Griffiths. Further chances were created and Camberley could have had four goals by the half time break but did not take their chances. Bookham levelled things half way through the first half when Stuart Padgett struck. Camberley seemed to lack ideas to break down Bookham in the second half and Bookham stared to have the better of the match and it was no real surprise when they took a 2-1 lead through Mark Jarman with nine minutes to go. It seemed to give Camberley the nudge they needed and things were level again on 87 minutes when Michael Blount chipped in the equaliser.
