MERSTHAM 0 CAMBERLEY TOWN SYL 5
The Under 18 Southern Youth League side put in an excellent performance to clinch the Southern Youth League Championship as they comfortably won 5-0 at Merstham this evening. The scoring was opened with an own goal after 12 minutes. That lead was extended four minutes before the break when Jamie Madden was tripped in the penalty area and Mark Bird slotted home the penalty. Merstham had hoped to come back at Camberley in the second half but a well struck 50th minute goal from Jacob Peace ended any hoped that the home side had. It became 4-0 on 57 minutes when Matt Barclay was hand to tuck home the rebound from a Jacob Peace effort. The scoring was completed ten minutes later when Connor Bloomfield took a Tom Hickey pass in his stride and executed a perfect lob over the keeper. It has been an excellent season for the side scoring 96 goals in league competition and conceding just eight. Well done lads - CHAMPIONS and deservedly so.

The Allied Counties League side's chances of winning their title have diminished somewhat over the past week. On Monday night Farnborough defeated Bracknell Town 4-1 at Bisley and last night they managaed to squeeze a 1-0 win over Ascot United. Those two wins put Farnboough on the same number of points as Camberley but with a better goal difference. Their final match is next Monday against Binfield at Bisley. Bottom bar one side Binfield will have to win the match by 11 clear goals for Camberley to win the title which (unfortunately) is unlikely.

CAMBERLEY TOWN ACL 0 FARNBOROUGH 3
A win would have given Camberley the upper hand in the race for the Allied Counties South Division title but they found Farnborough too strong on the night. There was not too much between the teams until Farnborough took the league in their home game which had been switched to Krooner Park. Farnborough have three more matches to play and require six points for the title and those three matches have to be played in the next nine days. Far

    EPSOM & EWELL 3 CAMBERLEY TOWN 2
The 1st teams season ended at Banstead's Merland Rise ground today. It was the final time that this fixture will be played on this ground as Epsom are moving on to ground share with Merstham next season after 17 years at Banstead. The match had a friendly feel about it until the 26th minute when Gavin Muir chipped the keeper to give Camberley the lead. Camberley could have gone two up but Muir saw another effort tipped against the inside of the post and run across the goal line before it was cleared. Robbie Burns levelled things fro Epsom before Jamie Hatfield struck to give the hosts the lead a minute before the break. Former Krooner Robbie Burns struck again on 55 minutes to make it 3-1 but Camberley fought back again to make it 3-2. Camberley Town ended their home campaign with a win over Banstead but it was not as plain sailing as the result suggests. Camberley took the lead on 22 minutes after a handball.     CAMBERLEY TOWN 2 CROYDON 1

Camberley took the lead in this match after 20 minutes when Julian Sills fired home after Camberley had two efforts blocked. A glancing header on 71 minutes from Ronnie Green seemed to see Camberley cruising to victory but five minutes later Croydon hit back with a controversial goal when Justin Gray looked to be fouled but no free kick was given.

CAMBERLEY TOWN 1 CHESSINGTON & HOOK UNITED 1
Camberley were held to a 1-1 draw at Krooner Park but can consider themselves unfortunate not to have won the match. Chessington & Hook were always going to be a tough side to break down but Camberley had three good chances to go in a the break with the lead but could not take them. Chessington & Hook took the lead in the second half when Adam Cheadle diverted Martin Jackson's off target effort past Gray in the Camberley goal.     CAMBERLEY TOWN 4 COVE 4
Our promotion chances took another dent at the hands of Cove after our visitors pegged us back twice in the final few minutes despite being down to 10 men to clinch a point. Cove got off to a good start scoring twice in the space of 3 minutes just before the half hour through a Tom McGarry penalty and a nod in from Bimal Balal to take a two goal lead. Hinga Amara reduced the deficit from the spot soon after to send Camberley in 1-2 down at the break. Camberley rallied in the second half and a tap in from Julian Sills and a low shot into the bottom left corner from Ronnie Green put Camberley 3-2 ahead. Cove had Steve Brown sent off but levelled things on 85 minutes when Steve Duff fired home. Camberley hit back almost immediately with Julian Sills tapping home from close range to make it 4-3 but in the second minute of stoppage time, Steve Duff struck again running onto an excellent through ball from ex-krooner Chris Shearer to give Cove a share of the points.

Farnborough can catch us but have to win all four of their matches in hand to over take us on goal difference.

The continuing wet weather played havoc with the fixture list again today.     RAYNES PARK VALE 1 CAMBERLEY TOWN 3
Camberley bounced back to winning ways with a 3-1 win at Raynes Park Vale but had to come back from a goal down. Raynes Park Vale took the lead on 13 minutes against the run of play. Camberley dominated proceedings but had to wait until the 62nd minute before they equalised through Martin Girling's prod home. Eight minutes later, Hinga Amara notched his 13the goal of the season to puit Camberley in front. The win was secured in the 72nd minute when new signing Luke Wheeler completed the scoring.
.
CAMBERLEY TOWN RESERVES 4 BOREHAM WOOD 1
The Reserves terrific run continued with an excellent 4-1 win over a skilful Boreham Wood side. Boreham Wood started the better of the sides but it was Camberley who took the lead through Charlie Oakley after 26 minutes. Boreham Wood hit back to equalise on 35 minutes. Camberley reacted well and retook the lead a minute later with a 30 yard strike from Joe Paris which sent Camberley in at the break with a 2-1 lead. Camberley had a goal disallowed before Charlie Oakley made it 3-1. A surging run and cross from Ben Acton saw Connor Bloomfield lay the ball back for Jon Ashford to add the fourth just before the end.

COVE 0 CAMBERLEY TOWN ACL 3
The Allied Counties league squad strengthened their position at the top of the South Division with a 3-0 win against Cove at Fleet Spurs ground.     CAMBERLEY TOWN 0 COVE 4
Camberley's defence of the El Records Cup came to a disappointing end as local rivals Cove came and deservedly won 4-0 at Krooner Park. It was a day when former 'krooners' returned to make us suffer. Cove took a first half lead from the penalty spot through Tom McGarry. Alex Jeffers then showed Camberley what they were missing up front, scoring either side of half time to give Cove an unassailable 3-0 lead. Two minutes after Jeffer's second goal Darren Dobinson completed the scoring. We wish Cove all the best in the final which will be on Friday, April 23rd at Staines Town FC against Bedfont.
Form recently has been a bit disappointing and to freshen things up and help with the promotion push, manager Paul Barry (pictured left) will be looking to bring in up to four new players within the next week. Further details when they are available

ASH UNITED 3 CAMBERLEY TOWN 0
Camberley had a 'bad day at the office' today as they crashed 3-0 at a very wet Ash United. Camberley were out played, out thought and out worked at the Shawfields Stadium by a hard working Ash United team. Despite a decent opening few minutes, Ash took the lead on 10 minutes when Aaron Gough fired home. James Blason extended the Ash lead three minutes into the second half and Shaun Lydon completed Ash's deserved victory with their third goal just after the hour mark.
.
BEDFONT 0 CAMBERLEY TOWN RESERVES 4
It was better news for the Reserves who made it 10 without defeat as they gained revenge for the defeat to Bedfont earlier in the season. This match was switched to Krooner Park as Bedfont are behind on their fixtures. Luke Taylor gave Camberley the ideal start, volleying home early on. Sean Davies then took over the show, scoring twice before half time to give Camberley a 3-0 lead. Sean Davies completed his hat-trick in the second half to give Camberley a comfortable 4-0 win

The Allied Counties side went five points clear at the top with a fine 5-2 win at Binfield. Charlie Oakley put Camberley on their way with two first half goals. Kieran Carey added the third from the spot just after the half time break. Binfield attempted a fight back and reduced the deficit but Charlie Oakley completed his hat-trick with 20 minutes remaining. Binfield pulled it back to 4-2 with three minutes remaining but there was still time for Kieran Carey to add a fifth goal for Camberley

CAMBERLEY TOWN SYL 7 HARTLEY WINTNEY 0
Camberley Town's Southern Youth League side stretched their lead at the top to eight points this evening with a comfortable 7-0 win over Hartley Wintney. After Camberley had a goal disallowed, Josh Gostage made it 3-0 on 34 minutes. The fourth came with just a couple of minutes to go before the half time break when Tom Hickey added his second of the night. An early goal in the second half from Josh Gostage put paid to any chance of a Hartley Wintney fight back and Matt Barclay then made it six on the hour. The scoring was completed in the 68th minute when Tom Hickey completed his hat-trick.m

TRING ATHLETIC 0 CAMBERLEY TOWN RESERVES 2
it's now eight matches without defeat for the reserves now after a good performance at Tring Athletic saw the lads come away with all three points and a 2-0 win. Featuring a team with eight youth team players, Camberley showed great maturity against a more experienced Tring side. Jacob Peace was Camberley's main man with both goals in the second half.

Both are on dual registrations as Fleet are in a different league. Jamie is the son of former Manager and player Trevor Norris. Darren Campbell is expected to make his debut on Saturday as Camberley's squad will be missing Ian Messenger and Lee Riddell (suspended), Justin Gray and Darren Redwood (injured), Shaun Davies, Wes Kendrick and John Finnieston (unavailable).

SOUTH PARK 3 CAMBERLEY TOWN 4 (after extra time)
Camberley continued their defence of the El Records Premier Cup by progressing into the Semi Finals with a narrow 4-3 win at Division One side South Park. Camberley got off to a decent start and took the lead on 18 minutes when Hinga Amara fired home. South Park hit back early in the second half with an equaliser and then took the lead on 64 minutes. Camberley were in danger of losing the match until Shaun Davies fired the equaliser on 85 minutes. Camberley then looked to have won the tie when Julian Sills made it 3-2 a minute later but South Park hit back again, winning an converting a penalty on 88 minutes. The match went into extra time and looked set to go to penalties. John Finnieston had the final word though, scoring the winner in the 120th and final minute

ASCOT UNITED 2 CAMBERLEY TOWN ACL 5
The Allied Counties League side took over the top spot in the table this evening with a 5-2 win at Ascot United. Tom Booth hit his first hat-trick of the season and Kieran Carey and Joe Pantony both got on the scoresheet to give Camberley a comfortable win. With Alton Town losing at home to Farnborough yesterday, the win now puts Camberley and Farnborough in place as the two favourites for the title although Alton and Thatcham may have something to say about that

CAMBERLEY TOWN SYL 5 GUILDFORD CITY 1
Camberley maintained their advantage at the top of the West Division of the Southern Youth League with a 5-1 win over Guildford City. Camberley took the lead on 10 minutes with Tom Hickey firing home after an excellent cross from Connor Bloomfield. A good start to the second half saw Camberley strike twice through Zane Pervcival and Matt Barclay to put the result beyond doubt. Guildford were unlucky not to have pulled a couple of goals back before Mark Bird added the fourth. Carl Sherry made it five with ten minutes remaining. Guildford City got a deserved consolation goal in the final minute.

    DORKING 1 CAMBERLEY TOWN 1
Camberley had the opportunity to close the gap on leaders North Greenford with a trip to bottom two side Dorking, but a resolute Dorking defence had the last word as they denied Camberley a much needed victory. Camberley had the majority of the possession in the first half but could not break down Dorking's defence and in fact went in at the break 1-0 down when a cross into the penalty area from near the halfway line somehow evaded everyone and ended up in the back of the Camberley net. Dorking could have gone two ahead when their only clear second half chance hit the post. From then on Camberley dominated. Camberley had shots cleared off the line three times, hit the bar, hit the post, had a goal disallowed, saw the keeper make five excellent saves, three of which were on his goal line before Hinga Amara scored a deserved equaliser on 90 minutes. Camberley could have won the game in stoppage time but for another goal line clearance

CAMBERLEY TOWN RESERVES 3 COVE 0
The Reserves extended their unbeaten run to seven with a comfortable 3-0 win over local rivals Cove. Paul Dadson got Camberley on their way with a first half goal. Youth team player, Charlie Oakley and Joe Wilson made sure of the victory with goals in the second half. The win moves Camberley up two places into third for the first time this season.

SANDHURST TOWN 0 CAMBERLEY TOWN 2
Camberley kept up the pressure on North Greenford United with a 2-0 win at local rivals Sandhurst Town. The hosts played dome good football in the first half but it was Camberley who snatched the lead in the first minute of stoppage time when Julian Sills headed home John Finnieston's cross. The second half saw Camberley get the ball in the back of the net again just after the hour mark  but it was disallowed for a Julian Sills handball. Within two minutes Sandhurst Town were awarded a penalty but Dan Simmonds fired it over the crossbar. With Sandhurst pushing for an equaliser, Camberley sealed the win on the counter attack when Jacob Peace ran almost half the length of the pitch, evade two challenges before slotting the ball past the keeper in stoppage time.

FLEET TOWN 1 CAMBERLEY TOWN SYL 1
Camberley's SYL side took a big step towards claiming the Southern Youth League West Division title with a 1-1 draw at their nearest rivals Fleet Town. After an even first half, Fleet scored a superb opening goal to go in with a 1-0 lead at the break. Going down slope in the second half Camberley had by far the better of the possession but had to wait to the final ten minutes before equalising with a Zane Percival header. The Allied counties side were due to play at Alton Town but the match was called off as their pitch was still waterlogged.

CAMBERLEY TOWN 1 GUILDFORD CITY 0
Camberley move to within five points of league leaders North Greenford United with a hard earned win over Guildford City. Camberley came in to the game looking for revenge for the 2-0 defeat suffered at the Spectrum just 17 days ago. Camberley started well with a chance for Ronnie Green after just two minutes and it was Ronnie who was instrumental in the opening goal, jinking one way then the other before being brought down in the penalty area after 19 minutes. John Finnieston (pictured left) stepped up to calmly slot the penalty home. Both sides had further chances to add to the score in the first half but neither keeper was troubled too much. The second half saw Guildford City push forward more and could have had an equaliser but for two excellent tackles from Dale Webb and Stacey Thripp in the Camberley defence. Camberley managed to hold on to the win despite eight minutes of stoppage time. The Reserves were due to have played at Hemel Hempstead but the match was called off due to a waterlogged pitch..

    CAMBERLEY TOWN 0 WEMBLEY 2
Camberley's 1st XI were looking to close the gap at the top of the table on North Greenford but missed out as our slump in luck and form continues. Top form team Wembley arrived with five wins out of their last six matches took the spoils with a 2-0 win. A goal in the final few minutes of each half consigned Camberley to their second home defeat of the season. Camberley maintain their second place as Chertsey were held at home by Bedfont 2-2. The Southern Youth League side were scheduled to play at Cranleigh but the match was rained off
.

Saturday, February 20th 2010

Camberley's 1st XI were due to play Bedfont away but once again the match fell foul of the wet weather, so it was all down to Krooner Park for the Reserves match against local rivals Bracknell Town. It proved to be a good day for the lads as they ran out 2-1 winners with Rob Lace scoring twice, once in each half to extend the reserves unbeaten run to six matches which includes five wins and consolidates fifth place in the table.

    CAMBERLEY TOWN 5 BOOKHAM 1
Camberley moved back into second place with a 5-1 win over Bookham, but it was a flattering result for the Krooners who made hard work of beating the division's bottom side. Bookham put up a good fight and took the lead two minutes before the half time break through Mark Jarman who had recently rejoined Bookham from Epsom & Ewell. Camberley hit back and levelled the score through Ronnie Green's calm finish on 50 minutes. It wasn't until the 80th minute and a Julian Sills prod home that Camberley were in front in the game. A couple of  minutes later Camberley made it 3-1 when Hinga Amara struck his first of the day. Sean Davies made it four on 85 minutes and Hinga Amara completed the scoring with a fifth on 88 minutes.
.
AFC HAYES 1 CAMBERLEY TOWN RESERVES 1
The Reserves winning run came to an end at AFC Hayes after they were held to a 1-1 draw. Camberley played well and deserved a half time lead given to them through Allied Counties striker Charlie Oakley, but AFC Hayes fought back to earn themselves a point with a second half goal.

CAMBERLEY TOWN ACL 3 THATCHAM TOWN 2
It was heart in mouth time at the end of this Allied Counties league game as it came to a nervous climax. Camberley had a great first half against one of the title favourites, Thatcham Town. Thatcham had only conceded four goals in six matches prior to this game but Camberley made the best of their set pieces and took a three goal lead within the opening 25 minutes. All three chances fell to and were taken by Charlie Oakley (left) who unusually tucked them all away with his head. Thatcham came out a different side in the second half and pulled an early goal back. Despite having a player sent off, Thatcham kept pressing Camberley and reduced the deficit even further with just under ten minutes remaining. Camberley held firm, despite a couple of narrow escapes, secured all three points to move them within two points of the Division leaders Alton Town

Wednesday, February 10th 2010

GUILDFORD CITY 2 CAMBERLEY TOWN 0
After just over two weeks without a competitive match, Camberley looked rusty and out of form against a Guildford side who closed Camberley down quickly. In a game that lacked a bit of quality, Guildford City produced a couple of well struck efforts to clinch all three points. The first fell to half time substitute Tom Tydeman who sent a sensational volley into the top left hand corner from just outside the penalty area and then clinched the points in the final few minutes through Danny Elgar after Camberley's Lee Riddell and Guildford City's Tom Tydeman had been sent off.

CAMBERLEY TOWN SYL 0 WESTFIELD 1
Westfield Under 18's, who are part of the Woking Academy if their tracksuits are anything to go by, send Camberley out of the Southern Youth League Cup with a narrow 1-0 lead. In a very entertaining match it looked as if just one goal would win it and it unfortunately it came late on for Westfield to send them through to the next round.

Sunday, February 7th 2010

With Chertsey drawing 1-1 with Whitley Bay in the F.A Vase yesterday, their match at Guildford City on Wednesday has been cancelled.     CAMBERLEY TOWN RESERVES 5 LEVERSTOCK GREEN 0
Camberley Reserves made it four wins in a row and five goals for the second home game running as they cruised to a 5-0 win over basement side Leverstock Green. Camberley had a host of first half chances and even missed a 37th minute penalty before finally breaking the deadlock on the stroke of half time when Joe Paris turned home Luke Taylor's cross. The second half was a different story. Within a couple of minutes of the restart Rob Lance headed home Anthony Millerick's free kick and four minutes later Jacob Peace (pictured left) fired home the best goal of the game from the edge of the penalty area. The fourth arrived on the 84th minute when Joe Paris prodded home John Ashford's flick on and Jacob Peace rounded off the scoring on 87 minutes with a lob over the keeper.

CAMBERLEY TOWN 0 KINGSTONIAN 4
Without a game for two weeks, Camberley arranged a friendly against Kingstonian for this evening. The match was used to check out some possible new signings. The visitors held a one goal lead at half time but hit three goals without reply in the second half to run out 4-0 winners. The match was closer than the scoreline suggests as Kingstonian were clinical in making Camberley pay for their mistakes.

Camberley's SYL were originally due to play Hanworth Villa and then Aldershot Town but both side pulled out of the fixtures arranged. As a result a friendly against the Under 17's was arranged. Camberley's match against Banstead Athletic suffered a late postponement after the referee decided a ten yard stretch of pitch in the shade of the factory over the far side was deemed too frozen to allow the match to be played. In further news, the Southern Youth league side's match at home to Hanworth Villa has been postponed after the away side pulled out of the fixture. The Southern Youth League side will now play against Aldershot Town in a friendly.

CHALFONT ST PETER 0 CAMBERLEY TOWN RESERVES 2
The Reserves made it three wins in a row with another win over a top four side in the form of Chalfont St Peter following the midweek win  against Hampton & Richmond. Two strikes by Rob Lance (left) on 34 minutes and 65 minutes gave Camberley victory and it could have been more but for a fine performance from the Chalfont keeper. The win takes Camberley up into sixth place in the table.

And finally we have held our first 100 club draw today in front of four members of the committee and an independent observer. Darren Barnard pulled out the winning number ... and our inaugural winner is Number 14 - Chris Pitt who wins £113 pounds.

AFC WIMBLEDON 1 CAMBERLEY TOWN 1 (after extra time - AFC Wimbledon win 6-5 on penalties)
Camberley just missed out on a place in the 4th Round of the Surrey Senior Cup after soaking up a lot of AFC Wimbledon pressure. Camberley set out to frustrate AFC Wimbledon and stop them playing their flowing style of football by closing them down quickly when they had possession and it did not make for a good quality game. After 90 minutes the game was goal less and went into extra time. Wes Kendrick, fresh of the subs bench gave Camberley a surprise lead firing in from just outside the penalty area in the first period of extra time, after good work from another sub, Jacob Peace, but in the second period AFC Wimbledon struck back when they were awarded a penalty. In the end it went to a penalty shoot-out. The first ten penalties were all slotted away convincingly before the AFC Wimbledon keeper pulled off a good save from Jason Short's effort. The hosts then converted the twelfth to win the shoot out 6-5. AFC Wimbledon meet either Chipstead, Egham or Colliers Wood in the next round.

BRITISH ARMY UNDER-23s 5 CAMBERLEY TOWN UNDER-23s 2
A representative Under 23 side travelled to the Military Stadium this evening to take on The British Army Under 23 side. Camberley started well and took the lead through Jacob Peace and went on to extend the lead with a goal from Shaun Davies. The Army hit back and reduced the deficit by half time. The second half saw the Army side fight back and forced an equaliser. Both sides made a number of changes and the Army took advantage to run out 5-2 winners.

EGHAM TOWN 4 CAMBERLEY TOWN 2
Camberley crashed to just their third defeat in the league as Egham gained revenge the midweek cup defeat. Camberley started slowly and poorly, finding themselves two goals behind after just nine minutes and then a third goal behind on twenty minutes. Things were to get worse for Camberley in the second half with a fourth goal that did have a suspicion of offside about it. Camberley finally got on the scoresheet on 85 minutes when Hinga Amara had his penalty saved but he followed up to poke the rebound home. In stoppage time Wes Kendrick added a second for Camberley, latching onto a long Darren Barnard pass. In all, Egham deserved their win
.

CAMBERLEY TOWN RESERVES 5 NORTH GREENFORD UNITED 1
It was better news at Krooner Park for the reserves who were also involved in a six goal match as they ran out 5-1 winners over North Greenford United. Ben Acton gave Camberley the lead and that was soon added to by Joe Wilson before North Greenford pulled a goal back. The two goal advantage was restored when Shaun Davies scored his first of the day. Jamie Hoppitt provided the cross for Rob Lance to head home Camberley's fourth. Shaun Davies got his second and Camberley's fifth to complete the scoring.

CAMBERLEY TOWN SYL 6 SANDHURST TOWN 2
The Southern Youth League side maintained their 100% league record against Sandhurst but had to come from behind to do it. Sandhurst took the lead after just 5 minutes after the Camberley defence allowed two players through to pressure the Camberley keeper and then on 13 minutes Sandhurst added another with a well taken finish. A quick reply was needed and it came within thirty seconds as Tom Hickey drove a low shot home. Camberley pressed on for the equaliser which came in the 27th minute when Hickey struck again. Another low shot two minutes later from Mike Murrell saw Camberley take the lead for the first time. The killer blow came just three minutes into the second half when Zane Percival intercepted a back pass to slot home the fourth. The result was put beyond doubt with further goals from Josh Gostage on 58 minutes and Sam Berridge on 68 minutes. Camberley had the ball in the net twice more before the end but both were ruled out for offside.

CAMBERLEY TOWN 3 EGHAM TOWN 0
Camberley earned themselves a Quarter Final tie away to South Park in the El Records Premier Challenge Cup with a 3-0 over Egham Town. There was not too much between the sides in the early stages but Camberley got the break through with five minutes to go before the half time break when John Finnieston struck after Camberley had two attempts on goal blocked. Within three minutes Camberley extended that lead when Hinga Amara added the second with the aid of a goalpost. Egham attempted a second half fightback but found the Camberley defence difficult to break down. A defensive mistake in the 89th minute allowed George Gould to add a third for Camberley. The Quarter Final tie at South Park will take place on March 9th. Kick Off time to be confirmed but it is likely to be 7:45pm.

CAMBERLEY TOWN SYL 2 CARSHALTON ATHLETIC 4
In the first match for any of the four main sides for over a month, the Allied Counties side made this exit from this seasons Surrey Youth Cup at Carshalton Athletic but only after taking the hosts to extra time. Carshalton took the game to Camberley from the start and deservedly took the lead although it did come directly from a corner. Camberley hit back and were awarded a penalty after Joe Pantony was felled in the box. Kieran Carey thumped home the spot kick. Camberley then took the lead just before half time when George Homewood drove home a shot from 20 yards. The second half saw Carshalton push on for the equaliser but the back four defended well and keeper Ryan Howells made a number of excellent saves but with less than 10 minutes remaining Carshalton got the goal they were looking for to take the game into extra time. Early in extra time, Carshalton took the lead with a well placed header. Despite tired legs, Camberley threw everything they had to get an equaliser but with just seconds remaining Carshalton Athletic pout the game beyond doubt with a fourth goal. We wish Carshalton the best of luck with their Semi Final.

Sunday, January 17th 2010

Colliers Wood United held an early pitch inspection and have announced that their pitch would not be ready for use by Wednesday when their Surrey Senior Cup tie against Egham was due to be played, so as a result, our El Records Cup match against Egham originally set for Tuesday night is back on. The good news is that Krooner Park has recovered quickly. The snow has melted and any surface water has drained away.

There is no waterlogging of the pitch and even most of the pitch markings have remained. Other area's of the club have also cleared and there will be no problem with car parking as all of the snow has also cleared from there.

We have also been given the new dates for the matches postponed in the past week. The home match with Wembley which was postponed on the 12th will now take place on Tuesday, February 23rd with a 7:45pm kick off. The match against Chessington & Hook which was postponed yesterday will now be on Tuesday, April 13th with the kick off being at 7:45pm. This means we will have five of our last six matches at home

Both matches were postponed today due to snow covered pitches but the big thaw is under way. Temperatures up to around 6 degrees centigrade today and there is a possibility we will be playing on Tuesday. At this moment our match against Egham Town in the League Cup has been called off as Egham have to play their Surrey Senior Cup match (which takes priority) at Colliers Wood on Wednesday. Colliers Wood have a pitch inspection on Monday morning. If the Surrey Senior Cup game is off then our League Cup game may well be back on again. If Colliers Wood and Egham do play on Wednesday then our League Cup tie at home to Egham is likely to replace our league match away to Egham next Saturday. It is all if's and but's at the moment. We will know more over the next 48 hours.

This is the state of play with just 48 hours to go before Saturday's Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League match against Chessington & Hook United. The photo to your right was taken at 2:30pm this afternoon. Krooner Park has approximately a covering of snow between two and three inches thick and it is slowly defrosting  with the present temperature running around 2 degrees centigrade this afternoon. The pitch surface beneath at this moment is frozen. Snow in the car park area behind the goal at the Crabtree end is even deeper at three to five inches deep. You can get a car into the ground but the entry road a very slippery. It is better behind the clubhouse where some of the snow has melted but the roadway resembles a bit of a lake where the water has not had anywhere to drain away to.

At this moment in time the match on Saturday looks doubtful even if we could clear the pitch of all the snow. One good sign is that temperatures are expected to climb on Friday to around four degrees and that will speed the melting process up. No decision will be made on this weekend's game until late Friday or early Saturday

The fourth round draw for the El Records Premier Challenge Cup was released today. We continue our defence of the Cup at home to Egham Town next Tuesday. An away trip to South Park awaits the winner of the tie. In the other three matches Cove will be at home to either Badshot Lea or Croydon Municipal, Horley Town will host Guildford City and Chertsey Town will be at home to Bedfont.
This weekend's Suburban League North Division match at Chalfont St Peter has already been postponed. With the snow just starting to melt, a fresh load fell on the pitch last night. Temperatures are due to rise over the next few days but it is felt that there will be insufficient time for the extra snow to melt, the frozen pitch underneath to defrost and the excess water to drain off.

Tuesday, January 12th 2010

This evening's Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League match against Wembley was called off yesterday evening when it was sure that the covering of snow across the pitch would not be melting over the next 24 hours and with the temperature not due to climb much over 1 or 2 degrees centigrade today the pitch would still be frozen underneath. Thursday night's Southern Youth League match against Hanworth Villa has also been postponed.

Monday, January 11th 2010

This evening's Nescafe Allied Counties League match at Alton Town was called off. Like everyone else locally, their pitch is still under several inches of snow.

Thursday, January 7th 2010

These are the latest pictures of Krooner Park under 9 inches of snow, taken this afternoon. All the good will and effort unfortunately will not be able to get this weekend's games on. With freezing nights and more snow forecast we are now heading for a month without a fixture. The next one is Tuesday against Wembley.

Tuesday, January 5th 2010

This evening's Suburban League North Division game against local rivals Cove was postponed due to a heavy downfall of snow that started falling early afternoon and has yet to stop. If it continues for the next day or two then this weekend's fixtures will also be in doubt.

Sunday, January 3rd 2010

The league have re-arranged yesterdays postponed match against Badshot Lea for Tuesday, April 20th which will mean we will finish the season with two home matches. A few other arranged fixtures to mention. For the Reserves, Following the home matches against Cove on January 5th and Boreham Wood on January 9th we will be away to Chalfont St Peter on Saturday, January 9th with a 3pm kick off. In the Allied Counties League, the remainder of the fixtures have been announced and are on the Allied Counties results page. Our next home match in that league is on February 11th against Thatcham. The lads are next in action at Alton Town on January 11th. Kick off time is expected to be 7:45pm. In the Southern Youth League we have been scheduled to take on Hanworth Villa on January 14th at Krooner Park and a week later, on January 21st we are at home again to Sandhurst Town. Both matches kick off at 7:45pm.

Saturday, January 2nd 2010

Yet another match bites the dust or in this case, the frost. We were vary close to getting this match on with the majority of the pitch defrosted but a 10 foot wide strip of ground which was in the shadow of the factory over the far side during the morning meant that it had not defrosted sufficiently and was deemed dangerous and the match was called off just after midday. North Greenford's 3-2 win at Bedfont means that we lost our top spot and drop to second on goal difference but have a game in hand.
