The third attempt to get this game on has unfortunately ended in failure again. Both sides were hoping to have a look at some new players to strengthen their squads but solid rain for two days has meant that Krooner Park is not fit for play.

Monday, December 28th 2009

The weather has once again forced the postponement of the SYL sides friendly against Aldershot Town. Another attempt will be made to play the match on Wednesday, December 30th with a kick off time of 5pm to try and avoid the possibility of the pitch freezing over before completion.

We now have the rearranged dates for the two recently postponed matches. The match at Sandhurst Town has now been arranged for Tuesday, March 2nd with a kick off time of 7:45pm. The match at Guildford City is a fortnight later on Wednesday, March 17th with the kick off again being at 7:45pm

Thursday, December 24th 2009

Saturday's match at Bottom Meadow against Sandhurst Town has already been postponed. The Sandhurst pitch this afternoon was still under a couple of inches of snow. Although the weather is to be much better this weekend, 9 degrees centigrade is forecast, Sandhurst, we believe are still having problems with their drainage system and the pitch is not likely to be fit for play

Following quickly on the heels of Paul Barry, we offer our congratulations to Darren and Michaela who today celebrated the birth of their fourth child, a 9lb 6oz baby boy this afternoon. Mother and baby are doing very well and are due home from hospital this evening.

Sunday, December 20th 2009

There have been a number of changes in the fixture list for the next month or so. Firstly, the El Records Premier Challenge Cup 3rd Round tie at home against Egham Town has been moved from Jan 5th to Jan 19th, kick off remains at 7:45pm. The Wembley game which was postponed yesterday will now take place on January 12th. We still await a date for the away match at Guildford City. There is also an additional match on January 25th at the Aldershot Military Stadium against the British Army National Under 23 squad. We will be sending an under 23 side made up from players from 1st, Reserve and Youth sides. Which 1st team players involved depends on the players picked for the AFC Wimbledon match the following night. Finally, the Allied Counties side's Surrey Youth Cup quarter final at Carshalton Athletic has been pencilled in for January 20th subject to conformation.

Congratulations to Paul Barry and his partner Steph Wentzel on the birth of their baby daughter this afternoon. We hear that mother and child are doing very well and the father is pretty pleased with himself too.

Saturday, December 19th 2009

The cold weather and snow played havoc with the day's fixtures in the league with every match being postponed. Camberley's match against Wembley was called off this morning with the pitch frozen underneath a couple of inches of covering snow. A new date for this match and the postponed match at Guildford City last Wednesday will be announced over the weekend.
Due to the adverse weather conditions the schedule friendly for the Southern Youth League side against Aldershot Town has been moved on a week to Monday, 28th December as the pitch is unlikely to be fit for use on the 21st. Kick Off will be at 7:45pm

Wednesday, December 16th 2009

Both Camberley sides who were due to be in action but suffered postponements due to the weather. Overnight rain and sub zero temperatures turned Guildford City's pitch at the Spectrum into a passing imitation of the ice rink next door and with snow also falling in the second half and freezing temperatures due again this evening the match was called off in mid-afternoon. The match at Hartley Wintney between Cove and Camberley's Allied Counties sides also was called off due to a waterlogged pitch

Monday, December 14th 2009

Camberley's SYL Youth side regained top spot in the league with a comfortable 6-0 win over local neighbours Cove. The game was over as a contest before the half time break as Camberley opened up a 4-0 lead with goals from Jacob Peace, Tom Hickey, Joss Gostage and Zane Percival. Camberley also had a goal disallowed as well as hitting the woodwork twice. The second half saw Camberley continue to control the game and Zane Percival went on to complete a hat-trick with two further goals in the second half. They have another match arranged before Xmas. They will take on Aldershot Town here at Krooner Park next Monday, 21st December in a friendly.

Saturday, December 12th 2009

Camberley's 1st XI started slowly and once again found themselves behind inside the opening 10 minutes when Joe Yeates put the visitors into an 8th minute lead. There was not a lot between the two sides until Molesey has a defender sent off just before the half time break. Camberley pushed forward after the break and levelled the scores with an excellent strike from Ronnie Green but could not break down an excellently marshalled Molesey defence. The lost points means Camberley's lead at the top has been reduced to six points.
..
Camberley Reserves were left rueing missed chances for the second week running as they missed out on collecting points at high flyers Leighton Town. After a goal less first half where they had a few chances to take the lead, they found themselves 2-0 down by the hour mark. A spirited fightback saw goals from Rob Lance, Jon Ashford and the 'freescoring' Ian Messenger but it was not enough as the home side left victorious 4-3

Thursday, December 10th 2009

A good performance by the Camberley Town ACL side saw them clinch a victory over Farnborough who arrived at Krooner Park with a 100% record in the league. Camberley took an early lead through a well taken strike from Kieran Carey, but Farnborough hit back equalising just before the halftime break through a 35 yard volley from Maderner. Camberley clinched the win in the second half when Ben Hinks headed home his first goal of the season from a Tom O'Reilly corner. The win sent Camberley back to the top of the table and two points clear

Camberley had a much better visit to Croydon than a few weeks ago when they drew 1-1. Tonight saw a good performance culminating in a 2-1 victory and earning a trip to AFC Wimbledon in the 3rd round. Camberley took an 11th minute lead through Russell Pym and extended the advantage early in the second half when Hinga Amara ended his recent goal drought with the second goal. Croydon hit back and reduced the arrears with about 20 minutes remaining an gave Camberley a few nervous moments in the final few minutes but Camberley held on for the win

Camberley's SYL side were without a game for another week when the scheduled match at Sandhurst Town was called off due to a waterlogged pitch

Saturday, December 5th 2009

Camberley extended their lead at the top of the table to 8 points follow victory at 2nd place North Greenford United. The hosts were without key striker Dave Lawrence who was suspended and it was telling as North Greenford lacked the cutting edge up front. Camberley took a 23rd minute lead when Joe Paris fired home from 20 yards. Camberley seemed rarely troubled by the Greenford front line and were able to extend their advantage in the 61st minute when the keeper could only parry a shot from Joe Paris and Ronnie Green swept home the loose ball. Hinga Amara also had the ball in the net soon after but it was ruled out for offside.
..
Camberley's Reserves were not so fortunate. They took the lead in their game against Tring Athletic when Sean Davies fired home from the penalty spot after the keeper committed a foul that denied a goalscoring opportunity. He was very fortunate to stay on the pitch. Tring Athletic drew level ten minutes before half time. Camberley had the better of the possession and the opportunities but succumbed to a goal midway through the second half to lose 2-1.

The lead at the top of the table was restored to five points again today with Camberley enjoying a 4-1 win over Hanworth Villa whilst North Greenford's match at Sandhurst was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. Camberley got off to a good start, taking the lead on 5 minutes through Jamie Hoppitt but Hanworth were quick to equalise through with Higgs equalising on 11 minutes. Just after the half hour mark, Darren Barnard regained the lead for Camberley firing home a screamer from 25-30 yards out. An early goal in the second half from the head of Julian Sills gave Camberley a two goal advantage and on 73 minutes the match was put beyond doubt when John Finnieston made it 4-1.
..
Camberley Reserves made it three league wins in a row with an excellent 3-1 win at Chesham Unuited. A rare goal from Ian Messenger gave Camberley a first half lead only for Chesham to hit back with an equaliser early in the second half. Paul Dadson then struck to regain the lead for Camberley before Luke Taylor made sure of the win with a fine strike to make it 3-1

Thursday, November 26th 2009

Camberley's Under 18 Allied Counties League side suffered a defeat at the hands of fellow title rivals Alton Town. Camberley, missing Charlie Oakley, who had broken his arm earlier in the day playing 5-a-side football at college. Camberley started the better of the two sides and went a goal behind against the run of play. The performance until half time was below par and they went in at the break 2-0 down. A stern half time team talk from the management team saw the performance improve in the second half. A goal from Tom O'Reilly saw Camberley get back into the match and they were unlucky not to snatch a draw in the final few minutes as Alton hung on for a 2-1 win.

Tuesday, November 24th 2009

Camberley's slow start at Cherrywood Road cost them as they suffered their first away defeat of the season in gusting winds. Badshot Lea took and early lead with a goal that had a clear 'handball' look about it (Someone has obviously been studying the 'Thierry Henry technique' recently as the referee did not spot it.). A second goal was added just before the quarter of an hour mark for Badshot Lea. The rest of the first half saw Camberley have more of the possession but were unable to break down a well marshalled Lea defence. Some over officious refereeing saw six players booked in the first half and it was to cost both sides later on. Danny Ker received his marching orders for a second bookable offence with 25 minutes to go and he was followed by Badshot Lea's Nick Sowden a quarter of an hour later. Badshot Lea became the first side to prevent us from scoring this season.

Monday, November 23rd 2009

Camberley's Southern Youth League side made their exit from the Surrey Youth Cup with a defeat to the Academy side of Croydon Athletic at Krooner Park. The 4-0 defeat was a little harsh on the lads against a good quality side who train everyday. Croydon Athletic were very quick up front and were clincal with their finishing up front and deserved their victory. After being 3-0 down at half time, Camberley battled well in the second half and gave as good as they got but it was not enough to get back into the game.

Saturday, November 21st 2009

Camberley had a tough time of it at Croydon today. After a good performance at Raynes Park in midweek, Camberley were well below par. Things did not get off to a good start with keeper Justin Gray picking up an injury in the warm up before the match and with no spare keeper on the bench, Jamie Hoppitt took his place in goal. The first half saw both sides with chances but no goals. The first goal when it did come came out of the blue, an excellent strike from Croydon's Murdoch that gave Jamie Hoppitt no chance of saving. It looked as if Camberley were heading for defeat away from home for the first time this season but a point was salvaged in the 91st minute when John Finnieston equalised from the penalty spot.

Camberley Reserves picked up another three points with a comfortable 2-0 win over Newport Pagnell Town. The match was effectively won in the opening 35 minutes with Sean Davies striking twice. The first came on 23 minutes following good work from Joe Wilson who set up Davies for an easy tap in. Excellent passing play between Dan Ker and Rob Lance put Davies in for his second on 35 minutes. It looked as if he had an easy tap in but a last ditch block from the defender initially denied him but quick thinking and an overhead kick saw him score before the keeper could regain his position. Davies had several chances to complete his hat-trick but was unable to take them. The second half saw Camberley continue to have the better of the possession, restricting Newport Pagnell to just a couple of shots and the match was comfortable seen out.

Wednesday, November 18th 2009

Camberley hit four for the second match running as they came from 1-0 down at half time to progress in the El Records Cup. Gould Gould started the scoring for Camberley in the 63rd minute to level the scores at 'The New Defence'. Two goals in the space of three minutes put Camberley in the driving seat, the first of which came on 71 minutes when Julian Sills scored his first of the season and then on 74 minutes Russell Pym was on hand to make it 3-1. The 'icing on the cake' was added in the 89th minute when Russell Pym popped up again to score his second of the night to make it 4-1.

This evening saw the turn of the Allied Counties side to compete in Surrey Youth Cup when they travelled to Horley Town. Following a goal less first half the home side opened the scoring but it did not stay that way for long as Charlie Oakley soon notched an equaliser. Camberley earned their place in the next round when Tom Booth struck the winner.

The match for the Reserves against Leverstock Green this coming weekend has been called off due to Leverstocks participation in the Hertfordshire County Cup. The match has been replaced with another home match, against Newport Pagnell Town. Kick Off at Krooner Park is 3:00 pm

Saturday, November 14th 2009

Camberley extended their lead at the top of the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division table to five points with a 4-2 win over Dorking. The game exploded into life after 13 minutes when three goals were scored in the space of 4 minutes. Camberley took the lead when Mitch While slotted home from 8 yards out. Dorking were level inside 60 seconds when Martin Waldren fired home a low strike from 25 yards out. Camberley though retook the lead inside two minutes when Ronnie Green's shot on target took a deflection off Martin Waldren to send the keeper the wrong way. Camberley extended the lead 6 minutes into the second half when Wes Kendrick deflected home from close range. Dorking gave themselves a lifeline when Luke Jones fired home on 70 minutes but Camberley made sure of the points three minutes later when John Finnieston sent a diving header past keeper Dan Coote.

Thursday, November 12th 2009

Camberley's ACL side made it the second side to go top of their table this week with a last minute win over Binfield. Nick Turner gave Camberley the lead with his first goal of the season and that was quickly followed by Camberley's second when Charlie Oakley fired home. Binfield hit back and scored twice before the half time break to send the teams in level. The second half was dominated by Camberley for long periods and it felt like it would only be a matter of time before Camberley scored but a mixture of off target shooting and good defending by Binfield kept the score at 2-2. It did look as if we were going to have to settle for a draw but with a minute of normal time remaining Charlie Oakley struck the vital winning goal.

Wednesday, November 11th 2009

Camberley's SYL side made it five league wins on the trot with a comfortable 4-0 win at Guildford City. Josh Gostage got Camberley's opener on 14 minutes and within two minutes Gostage turned provider when he set up Tom Hickey for Camberley's second. The game was put beyond the hosts 11 minutes into the second half when Louis Russell got through the Guildford City defence to make it 3-0. The final goal came on 66 minutes when Connor Bloomfield combined well with Matt Barclay, resulting in Bloomfield firing the ball home to make it 4-0.

Tuesday, November 10th 2009

Camberley went two points clear at the top of the table and with a game in hand despite not being in the best of form. Colliers Wood played some good football which made a number of us wonder why they are down in the bottom five of the table and it was they who took the lead on 9 minutes when Phil Frodsham fired home after the Camberley defence failed on a couple of occasions to clear the danger. Camberley hit back four minutes later when Ronnie Green turned his marker and drill a low shot across goal and into the bottom left hand corner of the net. Camberley got the upper hand on 50 minutes when Wes Kendrick fired home from the edge of the six yard box and Jamie Hoppitt made sure of the win when he broke through the Colliers Wood defence to slide the ball past Nick Peters in the Colliers Wood goal for the third.

Saturday, November 7th 2009

Camberley moved up into second place in the table after clinching a 1-0 win at Horley Town. There was little goal mouth action in the first half as Camberley had the better of the possession but found life hard trying to break down a packed and well organised Horley Town defence. On the occasions Camberley did get through with attempts by Jacob Peace, Mitch While and John Finnieston, they found the Horley keeper in good form. The vital breakthrough came with virtually the first attack of the second half. Anthony Millerick's corner finding the head of Mitch While as he notched the one and only goal of the game.

Camberley Reserves bounced back to winning ways against AFC Hayes with a 2-1 win but had to come from a goal behind to do it. Camberley had the better of the opening spell but went a goal behind on 16 minutes but fought back to level the scoreline just after the half hour mark when Ben Acton fired home. An excellent finish from Luke Taylor on 61 minutes saw Camberley take the points. AFC Hayes pushed forward for an equaliser in the final ten minutes but Camberley's defence held firm to maintain their mid-table postition

Thursday, November 5th 2009

Camberley Reserves were a little below par in this match. The lads had a good performance in the first half but found themselves a goal behind at the break. That lead was extended midway through the second half before Camberley started to push forward in order to get back into get back into the match. Camberley were awarded a penalty on 85 minutes. Lea Westlake stepped up to take the spot kick but saw the keeper guessed the right way and pulled off a fine save. Camberley got a consolation goal on the ninety minute when Josh Daniels bat the offside trap and slotted the ball past the keeper

Wednesday, November 4th 2009

Camberley's Allied Counties side travelled to Thatcham Town this evening and suffered their first league defeat of the season. Camberley had the better of the first half but found themselves 2-0 down at the break. Tom O'Reilly hit the crossbar early in the game and there were chances for George Homewood and Charlie Oakley before Dempster and Self scored for the hosts. Charlie Oakley hit the bar again for Camberley early in the second half but then an error in the Camberley defence saw a penalty conceded which Wickens converted to make it 3-0. Camberley heads visibly dropped following the goal and there was no way back

Monday, November 2nd 2009

Camberley's SYL side gained a bit of revenge with a 4-1 win to progress in the Southern Youth League Cup. Last season Epsom & Ewell knocked Camberley out of the same competition and also beat our ACL side in the Surrey Youth Cup. Matt Barclay gave Camberley the lead before Epsom hit back to level the scores. The match stayed level only for a few minutes before Josh Gostage regained the lead for Camberley. Another first half goal from Zane Percival put daylight between the two sides before the win was wrapped up in the second half with a fine strike from Tom Hickey.

Saturday, October 31st 2009

Camberley kept up the pressure on the top sides with an important win over fellow title challengers Chertsey Town. In a keenly contested match which neither side wanted to lose, Camberley took an early lead when Ronnie Green pounced from eight yards out to give Camberley a 7th minute lead. Chertsey hit back with just under 10 minutes of the first half left when Gavin Bamford struck a superb effort into the top right hand corner of the net. Darren Barnard regained the lead for Camberley three minutes into the second half, bending a free kick round the defensive wall and into the bottom left hand corner and Jacob Peace made sure of the points taking the ball round keeper and slotting home on 73 minutes.

Thursday, October 29th 2009

Camberley moved within a point of the league leaders with a 6-2 win at Hartley Wintney despite being reduced to 10 players early in the second half. Despite a good start to the game, Camberley found themselves a goal behind after the first quarter of an hour but goals from Matt Barclay and Zane Percival put Camberley ahead. Hartley battled back and equalised but goals from Tom Hickey and Jacob Peace put Camberley back in control. Early in the second half Camberley had Sam Berridge sent off but almost immediately after Matt Barclay extended Camberley's lead to   5-2. Another goal from Tom Hickey with just under 20 minutes remaining saw Camberley run out 6-2 winners.

Tuesday, October 27th 2009

Camberley progressed to the 2nd Round of the Aldershot Senior Cup with a comfortable win over Headley United. Fielding a mixed side of First, Reserve an Youth squad members, Camberley created a host of chances in the first half but some excellent goalkeeping from Shane Moody and some stout defending, the first half finished goal less. Camberley finally made the breakthrough on 71 minutes when George Gould headed home from close range. Ten minutes later Jacob Peace was tripped in the penalty area and John Finnieston converted the penalty. George Gould added a third goal in stoppage time.

The Reserves travelled the short distance to Oak Farm to take on Cove FC but came away empty handed as the home side struck twice without reply.

Saturday, October 24th 2009

An excellent win today for Camberley at league leaders Chessington & Hook. Since joining the Combined Counties League, Camberley had been to Chessington three times and lost three times. It looked for a short while that that run would continue when Chessington & Hook took a 58 minute lead with a superbly struck goal and they could have gone 2-0 up when they had the ball in the Camberley net again but the referee's assistant had raised his flag for offside. With 12 minutes left on the clock the situation changed when a Darren Barnard free kick too a big deflection past the keeper to level the scores and four minutes later great work from youth team player Jacob Peace saw him shoot and then square the rebound across goal for a simple tap in for Ronnie Green's winner

Camberley's Suburban side kept their good recent form going in an exciting match at Krooner Park against high flying Chalfont St Peter. A slow start saw Chalfont take a 3rd minute lead but Camberley hit back to level the score with a well struck free kick from Stacey Thripp on 20 minutes. Five minutes later a long kick upfield was allowed to bounce past the Chalfont back line and Rob Lance nipped in to put Camberley into the lead. Chalfont though hit back quickly to make it 2-2. On 40 minutes a handling error from the Chalfont keeper allowed Rob Lance to notch his second of the afternoon and give Camberley a 3-2 half time lead. A good start to the second half was imperative for both sides but it was Chalfont who got it, scoring an equaliser on 50 minutes. Both sides had the chances to win it with Camberley going closest with a header that went wide but found a hole in the back of the net. The referee initially awarded a goal but after discussing it with his assistant his decision was reversed and a goal kick given

With a growing injury and suspension list coupled with the departure of John Swift to Chertsey and also the departure of Adam Cornell, Camberley will be strengthening the squad over the next few weeks. At the start this week Manager Paul Barry secured the first of two or three new signings. Coming in for his debut at Chessington & Hook will be central defender Rob Sheridan who has joined from Kingstonian. Second signing George Gould has suffered a shoulder injury and may have to delay his debut until Tuesday when a squad side will face Headley United in the Aldershot Senior Cup and the Reserves face Cove. Paul is also looking to add a midfielder to the squad.

Thursday, October 22nd 2009

Camberley's Allied Counties side bounced back into action after their heavy defeat on Monday with a win over Bracknell Town in the league. Camberleey got an early goal through Kieran Carey to settle the nerves but Bracknell hit back. On 56 minutes Bracknell should have scored from the penalty spot but the post came to Camberley's rescue. With fifteen minutes to go Bracknell levelled the scores and it looked as if the points would be shared. With two minutes to go Kieran Carey had other ideas, charging down a clearance from the keeper and slotting the ball home for the winner. The 2-1 win sends Camberley back to the top of the table

Wednesday, October 21st 2009

Camberley's SYL side travelled to Molesey for their toughest game of the season yet in the Southern Youth League Cup. Molesey got off to a good start, opening up a 2-0 lead in the opening 15 minutes. Camberley gradually settled down and started to come back into the game and got a deserved goal through Zane Percival from close range. Despite their efforts Camberley could not find the equaliser and Molesey qualify for the next round with a 2-1 win

Tuesday, October 20th 2009

Egham can consider themselves unlucky not to have left Krooner Park with all three points. The visitors created a number of 1st half chances but could not find the net. Camberley had just one clear chance and could have gone in at the break three goals down. As it was Egham failed to take their chances and as so often happens they paid for it. Camberley only seemed to come to life in the final 15 minutes. The crucial moment in the match came on 81 minutes when Jacob Peace ran on to a through ball. His first touch was a little heavy but he kept the pressure on the defender and it was enough for the defender to poke it past his own keeper for an own goal. Despite a few scary moments, Camberley held on for a 1-0 win.

Monday, October 19th 2009

Camberley's Allied Counties side were given a bit of a footballing lesson at the EBB Stadium, otherwise known as The Recreation Ground. Two goals in the opening fifteen minutes put Aldershot Town in a commanding position and a third was added before the break. A double substitution at the half time break was meant to give Camberley more impetus but in the end backfired. Aldershot Town extended their lead early in the second half before Camberley were forced to make a third substitution. With the score at 5-0 things got worse for Camberley after they lost another player to injury and were forced to continue with 10 players. Aldershot Town took full advantage, not letting up and added four further goals to run out 9-0 winners.

Saturday, October 17th 2009

Camberley rested a number of players for the upcoming match against Egham Town on Tuesday but still fielded a side capable of beating Sheerwater from Division One comfortably. At the end of the day they made life hard for themselves against a spirited Sheerwater side. Things were going to plan by half time with Mitch While hitting a first half hat-trick to give themselves a 3-0 half time lead. Nic Donaldson scored a goal for Sheerwater before Hinga Amara extended the lead to 4-1. A 62nd minute goal from Marcus Slimane got the Sheerwater hopes up and when Donaldson pulled it back to 4-3 on 81 minutes, the home side felt that they could cause a shock. On 89 minutes they hit an equaliser, Donaldson getting his hat-trick, and the game went to extra time. Sheerwater then took the lead with an outstanding 35 yard free kick from Craig Woodley on 97 minutes. Soon after Sheerwater were reduced to 10 men following a sending off but the Camberley faithful had to wait until the 114th minute for an equaliser, a deft chip by Darren Barnard. In the final minute Camberley grabbed the win when Jacob Peace beat the offside trap to take the ball round the keeper and slot home

A fine performance for the Reserves saw them defeat second place Leighton Town at Krooner Park. A second half strike from Shaun Davies providing the decisive moment of the match as Camberley ran out 1-0 winners

Thursday, October 15th 2009

Good night for both of the under 18 sides in the Surrey Youth Cup. The Allied Counties side entertained Whyteleafe at Krooner Park. In a match that saw little between the two sides, it was Camberley who opened the scoring when Charlie Pyle poked hone a cross from Keiran Carey just before the half hour mark. Ryman Youth League side Whyteleafe came out in a more determined mood in the second half and got an equaliser but it was Camberley who had the last laugh when Charlie Oakley ended off a good move with a winner ten minutes before the end.

The Southern Youth league side travelled to take on Cobham and gained revenge on behalf of the ACL side who were beaten by Cobham in the Grant McLellan Cup final last season. Camberley got off to a good start with Josh Gostage scoring his first two goals of the season to open up a  2-0 lead inside the opening quarter of an hour. Elliot Hobden then struck a third for Camberley before the break. Cobham came out for the second half looking to get back into the game but a strike from Matt Barclay on 51 minutes put Camberley 4-0 up. A further goal from substitute Mike Murrell in the final minute gave Camberley a convincing 5-0 win.

Tuesday, October 13th 2009

Twice Camberley led but twice Cove came back to level the scores and almost snatch the win in the final moments. Camberley got off to a good start, taking the lead after 12 minutes with a Ronnie Green strike. It stayed that way until early in the second half when Darren Dobinson fired home the Cove equaliser. Camberley regained the lead through a Darren Barnard free kick but Cove equalised again through a penalty from former krooner, Tom McGarry. Cove almost snatched the win at the death but Chris Kigani somehow managed to put the ball over the bar from six yards with the goal at his mercy.

Saturday, October 10th 2009

Camberley will consider it two points lost rather than one gained as Bedfont came back from two goals down to clinch a point at Krooner Park. Camberley had numerous chances to have the game wrapped up by half time but an outstanding performance from keeper Del Lewis kept Camberley's lead to 1-0 after he made 5 excellent saves. Camberley extended their lead a minute into the second half when Ronnie Green fired home. Bedfont fought back and score twice in the space of four minutes through James Shipperley and Julius Mnagadi. Camberley had two great chances to win the match through Mitch While and Wes Kendrick but could not find the net.

Camberley Reserves qualified for the second round of the Suburban League Cup with a fine performance to beat Tring Athletic 3-1. Camberley opened the scoring when youth team striker Jacob Peace fired home and by half time Luke Taylor had added another to give Camberley a 2-1 lead. A second half goal from Rob Lance clinched a 3-1 win and a trip to Bedfont in the next round.

Camberley went second after a 4-1 win over league leaders Sandhurst Town. Camberley were fired up following two defeats running and got off to a good start when Wes Kendrick prodded home after 9 minutes. Kendrick added his and Camberley's second of the night after 17 minutes and Jamie Hoppitt struck his first of the season from 25 yards to send Camberley in 3-0 up at the break. Camberley made it four on 65 minutes after Jamie Hoppitt was brought down in the penalty area by the keeper. The keeper, Asem Agov was sent off for the challenge. Darren Barnard converted the resulting penalty. Sandhurst got a consolation goal on 73 minutes when James Mepham latched on to a poor back pass to slot home. With ten to go Jason Short became Camberley's third player to see red this week for a second bookable offence. Victory celebrations were muted after Camberley lost the services of Gavin Muir with a dislocate knee cap in the first half

Camberley had two sent off and Redhill one as Camberley crashed out of the F.A. Vase at the 1st Round stage. Camberley got off to a good start, taking the lead on 6 minutes when Hinga Amara sent a cracking header past the keeper. Redhill hit back and managed to level the scores on the stroke of half time when John Difford powered his header past Gray. The match started getting a bit physical in the second half and the cards started flying but there were no goals and the match went into extra time. Camberley had Julian Sills and Redhill, Chris Hubbard sent off before the referee awarded Redhill a penalty. Justin Gray made a great save but Jon Hogg followed up to fire home the rebound. Camberley also had Russell Pym sent from the field but despite this, pushed forward for the equaliser. Redhill keeper Chris May made a number of fine saves to deny Camberley. On 115 minutes Camberley were caught on the counter attack and Marcus Elliott ensured Redhill's passage to the next round with a third goal

Camberley Reserves played well but it was their finishing that let them down. Camberley could have had a three goal lead at the break but failed to hit the target. They were made to pay as early in the second half Hemel snatched the lead. Camberley battled back to equalise through Charlie Oakley, his third in four matches for the reserves. Camberley then had a number of chances to take the lead with Westlake and Ashford both denied. Camberley were then hit with a sucker-punch of a goal which allowed Hemel Hempstead to leave with all three points and a 2-1 win.

The Allied Counties Under 18 side had another convincing performance as they went back to the top of the South Division table as they defeated Kintbury Rangers 5-1. Charlie Oakley opened the scoring with a thumping strike before Kintbury levelled things. The scores were level for less than a minute as Kieran Carey put Camberley back in front from close range. The second half saw Camberley take control with Oakley's quick free kick finding Charlie Pyle who fired into the top far corner of the net. Charlie Oakley then scored his second of the night to make it 4-1 following an excellent cross from Luke Turner. Charlie Oakley then turned provider crossing for Luke Turner to slot home the fifth. The match ended six minutes early when a Kintbury defender suffered a dislocated knee when turning to control the ball. We wish the lad concerned a speedy recovery

The game was effectively won in the opening 15 minutes when Connor Bloomfield and Matt Barclay struck within a couple of minutes of each other. Camberley Town's 100% league record came to an end at Krooner Park against fellow title challengers North Greenford United. In an entertaining game bo0th sides had chances in the first half but it ended goal less. The breakthrough came in the 53rd minute when Dave Lawrence, the top scorer in the Premier Division, slotted past Justin Gray. Camberley drew level with a quarter of an hour to go when Gavin Muir headed home a cross from Ronnie Green. A last minute error by a Camberley player saw Dave Lawrence hit his second of the day and the winner. There was only time to kick off before the referee blew for full time.

While the First's entertained North Greenford, the two reserve sides met at North Greenford's Berkeley Fields ground. Camberley took the lead on 23 minutes with a collectors item - an Ian Messenger goal. The lead was doubled by Ben Cobbett before the break. In the second half, North Greenford hit back to make it 2-1 before Jon Ashford made it 3-1. Once again North Greenford hit back but a Jacob Peace strike made it a final score of 4-2 to Camberley.

Camberley Town's ACL side fell at the first hurdle in the F.A Youth Cup against a busy Shoreham side. Camberley looked to be well on their way to the 2nd Qualifying Round when they opened up a 2-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes with goals from Lewis Osborne and Charlie Oakley but Shoreham fought their way back scoring one before the break and then twice in the second half. Camberley had 15 minutes to draw level following the third Shoreham goal. Charlie Oakley had two great chances, firing wide from 12 yards and then hitting the underside of the crossbar inside the final five minutes but it was not to be. Our best wishes go with Shoreham when they travel to Carshalton Athletic in the next round.

Tuesday, September 22nd 2009

Camberley Town quickly arranged a friendly to replace  the Badshot Lea match which was postponed as Badshot Lea had an F.A. Cup replay which took precedence. Manager Paul Barry arranged the match to check on the fitness of players coming back from injury and to look at players to replace those on the injury list. It was a good run out forf the lads who took the lead midway through the first half with an excellent finish from Jacob Peace. Two goals in the space of two minutes just before the break from Luke Taylor and Julian Sills saw Camberley go in with a 3-0 lead. Camberley extended the lead to 5-0 with two goals from Wes Kendrick in the opening 20 minutes of the second half before Fleet Spurs pulled a consolation goal back. Final score - Fleet Spurs 1 Camberley Town 5.

Camberley Town progressed to the 1st Round proper of the F.A. Carlsberg Vase with a win in extra time over Selsey from the Sussex League but at a cost. With just six minutes remaining of normal time, George Hardy (pictured left) suffered a horrific injury which saw his leg fractured in two places and his ankle dislocated. The game was held up for 35 minutes which he received expert treatment on the pitch. In the next 48 hours he will under go an operation at Frimley Park Hospital. All our best wishes go to George for a quick recovery and we hope to see him back down at Krooner very soon.
The match itself remained goal less until the 64th minute when Selsey took the lead when Ross Woolfe ghosted in round the back of the Camberley defence to slot the ball past Justin Gray. Camberley were back level seven minutes later when John Swift slotted home from the penalty spot. Selsey regained the lead again on 74 minutes when Ross Woolfe struck again with an almost identical goal to his first. Camberley were a little fortunate to level on 81 minutes when the keeper fumbled a catch into the path of Russell Pym who slotted in to an empty net. There was no luck about the Russell Pym winner which came 7 minutes into extra time when Pym received the ball on the edge of the penalty area a calmly slotted the ball into the top corner.

Camberley Town Reserves Jekyll and Hyde season continued. Following their 6-2 win at Hartley Wintney, the Reserves travelled in confident mood of winning at bottom side Leverstock Green but form deserted them in the first half as Leverstock opened up a 3-0 lead. The pace of striker Jamie Sharples causing the Camberley defence problems as he broke through to score a first half hat-trick. Camberley played much better in the second half but could not reduce the deficit.

Thursday, September 17th 2009

Camberley Town's Allied Counties Youth side followed the example of the Southern Youth side and went top of the table with a second win in a row. Ascot United were the visitors at Krooner Park this evening, eager to put on a good show in their first ever Allied Counties League match. The did just that until Camberley took the lead through Kieran Carey and then extended that lead through a Charlie Oakley header. Ascot pulled on back before the halftime break through Tom Semadini but Camberley confirmed the win six minutes from time when Kieran Carey slottrd home his second of the night from the penalty spot.

Tuesday, September 15th 2009

Camberley Reserves bounced back to winning ways with a thumping 6-2 win at Hartley Wintney. Camberley went goal mad in the first half, taking the lead with a Charlie Oakley goal after 14 minutes. By the 21st minute, Camberley found themselves three ahead with Luke Taylor and Jon Ashford finding the net. Jon Ashford added his second of the night on 40 minutes. Not to be outdone, Luke Taylor did the same in the 43rd minute and to give Camberley a 5-0 half time lead. Following a power failure, it was a much more even affair in the second half. Luke Taylor completed his first Camberley hat-trick on 53 minutes to make it 6-0. Hartley Wintney hit back with two goals in as many minutes with a quarter of an hour to go but by that time the match was already won.

Monday, September 14th 2009

The top two sides met in the Southern Youth League tonight at Krooner Park and it was Camberley who came out on top in a very close match. Camberley's goal both came within the space of two first half minutes. On 14 minutes a fine strike from Jacob Peace gave Camberley the lead and with visitors still reeling from the goal Elliott Hobden struck to double the Camberley lead. Fleet came back at Camberley in the second half and put a lot of pressure on the home side but Camberley held out for the 2-0 win. Camberley thought they had a third in the second half but the strike was ruled out for offside.

Saturday, September 12th 2009

Camberley continued on their good league run with a sixth consecutive victory after winning 2-0 at Colliers Wood United. It is the first time in 100 years (the 1909/10 season was the last time) that Camberley have won their opening six matches in a league campaign. Ronnie Green sent Camberley on their way scoring the opener after 11 minutes. Several chances were created to add further goals but only one more came and that was from John Swift after 40 minutes. Camberley now sit in third place behind second place Sandhurst Town who also won their sixth match and leaders North Greenford who both have a slightly better goal difference. The Reserves meanwhile suffered a 4-0 loss at the hands of Bedfont at Krooner Park.

Thursday, September 10th 2009

The second half was a much closer affair and Royal Arms pulled a goal back on 85 minutes to make the final score 4-1.

Wednesday, September 9th 2009

The Reserves got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win at Bracknell Town this evening. After a goal less first half, the sizable Camberley support had to wait until the 71st minute for the breakthrough and it came from a calm finish by Kieran Carey who slotted into the far corner of the net from six yards out. The win was secured in the 82nd minute when Josh Daniels rode through two tackles before firing past the keeper.

For the sake of Fleet Spurs, we hope this was a freak result. Camberley started well and went in at half time leading 3-0. You could not have anticipated what was going to happen in the second half. At the end of the day, Zane Percival hit four. There was a hat-trick for Mike Murrell. Tom Hickey hit two and there was also goals for Stuart Hanvey, Connor Bloomfield, Elliott Hobden, Jay Waldron and also Jacob Peace. giving us the final score of Fleet Spurs 0 Camberley Town 14

Monday, September 7th 2009

The Allied Counties side opened their league season with a 2-1 win at Bracknell Town but had to come from a goal behind to do it. There was little between the two sides in the first half with Camberley shading the possession but they found themselves a goal behind after EJ Henry pounced on a defensive error to slot home the first goal. Bracknell had the better of the second half until the final 10 minutes when Camberley got the upper hand. On 82 minutes Tom Booth ran onto a ball hit over the top of the defence to slot home. In the final minute Camberley snatched the winner when a shot was blocked and fell into the path of Charlie Oakley who fired home from 8 yards out.

Camberley were made to work hard by a lively Cobham side before earning their place in the 2nd Qualifying Round in the F.A. Vase. Camberley looked to be on their way with two goals in three minutes from Ronnie Green and George Hardy but a 25th minute strike from Shane Rideout saw the visitors in with a chance. A below par performance in the opening stages of the second half allowed Cobham to level things through Scott Day, but Camberley bucked their idea's up and another George Hardy goal and a last minute penalty from John Swift saw Camberley through with a 4-2 win. Selsey won their tie at Southwick and will be Camberley's opponents at Krooner Park in the next round.

The Reserves suffered their second defeat running by a four goal margin at Boreham Wood this afternoon. It was an improved performance on the one witnessed in midweek at Sandhurst. The 5-1 scoreline was a little harsh on Camberley  but Boreham Wood deserved their victory on their Astroturf pitch. Camberley's consolation came from a good move that saw Ben Cobbett cross for John Ashwood to turn the ball home from close range.

Wednesday, September 2nd 2009

It was the Southern Youth team's turn to travel to Sandhurst today, looking to get their season off to a winning start. The game started with the rain belting down and a with a fair amount of standing water on the pitch. Even after just two minutes any pass made was stopping in the standing water. After a quarter of an hour, it was no surprise that the referee blew up and took the players off the pitch. After ten minutes to see if the rain would ease up the referee decided to abandon the match

Tuesday, September 1st 2009

Not a good night for the Reserves tonight as they travelled the short distance to Sandhurst. Up against a lively Sandhurst side Camberley had as much of the game as their hosts which featured four ex-Camberley players. One of whom, Dan Tilson was rarely tested in the Sandhurst goal. The difference between the sides was that Sandhurst took their chances when they came. Sandhurst hit Camberley twice in either half to open up a four goal lead, two of which were scored by Craig Parker, another of the former Krooners. Camberley did earn a penalty in the second half when Gavin Muir was brought down but Lea Westlake's spot kick was well read and saved by Tilson

Monday, August 31st 2009

Camberley Town made it six points out of six over the Bank Holiday weekend with a 3-0 win over near neighbours Ash United and at the same time maintaining a 100% league record this season. There was little between the sides and it was against the run of play when Camberley took the lead through a Charlie Oakley header on 35 minutes. On 52 minutes Ash's chances of points from the game took a hammer blow when George Hardy made it 2-0 with a towering header past keeper Adlam. The points were effectively sealed with a third and final goal on the hour from Hinga Amara. Justin Gray had an outstanding game in goal for Camberley, making two great saves to ensure a clean sheet.

Saturday, August 29th 2009

Camberley Town came from behind to clinch another three points against a revitalised Banstead. With five players making their debut for the hosts, they certainly did not look like a side who have lost all their preceding matches in the league 4-0. Camberley got the opening goal they were looking for on 37 minutes when Ronnie Green sprung the offside trap to fire home. The first twenty minutes of the second half, Banstead fought back and levelled the scores on 57 minutes when Scott Thompson prodded home. Six minutes later Banstead were ahead when a cross came off Sean James and past Justin Gray for an own goal. For a while it looked as if Camberley had no answer to Banstead but eventually started to create chances and on 80 minutes Hinga Amara got the goal Camberley were looking for with a low shot across the keeper. Two minutes from time substitute Darren Barnard got on to the end of a John Swift corner and headed home to give Camberley all three points and a 3-2 win

Camberley Town Reserves meanwhile were involved in a nine goal thriller at Krooner Park which had just about everything. There was no sign of things to come a the half time break when Camberley went in with a Ben Cobbett goal splitting the sides. Birthday boy Sean Davies double Camberley's lead early in the second half. Within the space of the next 20 minutes the score went up to 5-2 with Ben Cobbett completing his first Camberley hat-trick an Sean Davies adding his second of the game. In between the goals Harefield United were also reduced to 10 men. Paul Dadson added a sixth before Harefield added another consolation goal shortly before time. Final score - 6-3

Hampton fought back and equalised within five minutes. Just before the half time break Camberley took the lead again when an excellent move was finished off by Charlie Oakley. In the second half there was little between the teams but Hampton scrambled home an equaliser on 71 minutes. Five minutes later and with two Camberley players down on the ground injured, Hampton & Richmond grabbed the lead. The result was put beyond doubt in stoppage time with a fourth Hampton & Richmond goal. Final Score 2-4

In a competitive and even first half Raynes Park Vale took the lead just after the half hour mark when striker David Ellard headed home from a free kick. Two well struck goals saw Finchampstead leave Krooner Park with a win in this Reserve team friendly. Camberley had the better of the first half and took the lead on the half hour mark when Sam Wilson was tripped in the penalty area. He took the penalty himself and slotted it low into the bottom left corner. Finchampstead levelled the score before the break with a low effort, well struck from the edge of the penalty area. Camberley thought they would finish with a draw when a penalty was superbly saved with five minutes to go but on the next attack, Finchampstead won the match with a 30 yard shot that went in off the post.

Saturday, July 25th 2009

A good, entertaining run out for both sides. Slough Town had the better of the possession in the first half but found Camberley keeper Justin Gray in excellent form. Camberley made Slough pay for their missed chances when former Kingstonian player Ronnie Green followed up to score after Slough keeper De Richmond blocked a one on one chance. Soon after it was 2-0 when Hinga Amara fired into the roof of the net from 25 yards out. Slough almost pulled one back just before the break but a superb reaction save from Gray kept the Camberley goal intact. In a much closer second half, Slough did pull a goal back through Sinclair on 64 minutes and had two excellent chances to level things but missed from close range. Camberley had the chances to extend the lead late on but De Richmond in the Slough goal denied a further goal.

The Reserves hit their second five goal tally in as many matches with a 5-1 win over the Territorial Army, who were managed by former Krooner coach, Steve Cotter. The Territorials took the lead on 17 minutes when Gary Watkins struck. It seemed to spark the Camberley 'troops' into action and the score was levelled on 25 minutes thanks to Sean Davies. Seven minutes later Camberley had the lead when Paul Dadson converted his chance. A well worked set play resulted in Camberley extending the lead through Billy Wilson on 38 minutes. Camberley continued their warm up for the season with a 3-2 win at Bedfont Sports. Camberley had the upper hand in the first half, opening up a three goal lead in the opening 33 minutes. An excellent four man move saw Camberley take the lead after 12 minutes with Gavin Muir finishing off the move with a confident finish. A dipping 30 yard strike from John Swift doubled the lead 10 minutes later. Charlie Oakley made it three on 33 minutes after breaking through the Bedfont Sports defence and beating the keeper and a defender before slotting in. Five half time substitutions meant Camberley were a little slow to get going again in the second half and Bedfont Sports took advantage, reducing the arrears four minutes into the half with a well placed header. The score was pulled back to 3-2 with 12 minutes from time and nearly snatched a draw with an effort that came off the underside of the crossbar in the closing minutes.

The SYL side were also in action over at Tomlinscote school against Maidenhead United, last seasons Allied Counties Champions. The SYL side put in a good performance but just lacked that cutting edge up front. There were some encouraging performances in midfield and the defence looked pretty solid. It was a very encouraging performance from a team that at one point had just one 17 year old on the pitch and dominated for long stretches in the game..

Sunday, July 19th 2009

A thoroughly entertaining occasion enjoyed by all was the verdict of the charity match played between the squad of 2009 and the squad of 1999. The fitness of the present day squad was the telling factor at the end of the day although the control and touch had not deserted the '99ers' and they showed in phases why they were such a good side in their day. The present day squad opened up a three goal lead in the first half with John Swift striking twice with a goal from Luke Taylor sandwiched in between. Paul Harkness pulled a goal back for the '99ers', before Paul Barry (and we won't hear the last of this for some time to come) score Camberley's fourth with a close range tap-in. In the last few minutes, Jason Heath was tripped in the penalty area and Paul Xiberras tucked home the penalty at the second attempt. 4-2 was the final score but a few of the old boys were trying to claim the UEFA competition ruling of away goals counting double and asking for a 4-4 draw.

Saturday, July 18th 2009

Camberley Town started their pre-season campaign with an entertaining 3-3 draw against an Aldershot Town XI. Camberley were the first to get the ball with a Brad Smith header but had the goal ruled out for a foul on the keeper. despite a good solid start, Camberley found themselves a goal behind to a well place header from Adam Bolle on the quarter hour mark. Camberley clawed their way back on to level terms on 24 minutes after Gavin Muir was tripped in the penalty area. John Swift stepped up to calmly convert the spot kick. Parity was to last for just two minutes as Camberley were penalised for a push in the penalty area. A well taken spot kick from Akanni-Sunday Wasiu put Aldershot back in front. On 35 minutes a well placed free kick from 25 yards by Bobby Hopkinson extended the Aldershot lead. With both sides making a number of changes in the second half, Camberley fought back to level the scores. Jamie Hoppitt was on hand to prod home on 64 minutes after the keeper had made a fine save to deny Matt Squires to make it 2-3. Gavin Muir, once released by Aldershot's Youth set up, had a point to prove and he created his own luck to turn his marker inside out before squeezing home the equaliser at the near post with nine minutes to go. Aldershot went close to winning the match late on with a header from Ben Hutchings but a great reaction save from Justin Gray kept the score at 3-3.

Camberley have an additional fixture to announce. On Sunday, July 19th, Camberley Town's 1st XI squad will take on a Camberley Town 1998/99 side to mark the 10th anniversary of the F.A. Cup run that saw our small club reach the 1st Round Proper of the F.A. Cup. Proceeds from the match will be split between club funds and towards the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, who provided excellent help and assistance to Alan Collins in the months prior to his death.
