Despite very wet conditions, this was an excellent match with both teams trying to keep the ball down and it was played in good spirit. Both sets of players deserve to be credited for their effort. Unfortunately the rain kept coming down and the referee decided to called the match off at half time with the pitched waterlogged to the point that it would be dangerous to continue.

Paul Shelton gave Wembley the lead after 22 minutes and that was soon added to on the half hour by a Jumo Mitchell penalty. Camberley Town Reserves suffered a second half collapse to lose 3-1 at home to Merstham after having the better of the play in the first half. Details to follow

Tuesday, November 28th 2006

For the third time in two months Camberley opened up a two goal lead against their opponents only to lose it and for the second time lose the match. Camberley opened the scoring after 21 minutes when Mitch While volleyed home. Colliers Wood were level ten minutes later through Tom Crossland. Camberley then regained the lead four minutes before the break when Adam Galvin fired home a free kick. Colliers Wood went straight up the other end and won a penalty within 30 seconds but hit the post with it. With moments to half time Camberley made it 3-1 when Scott Brighty headed home from close range. It started going wrong again for Camberley just after the hour when Mark Longley fired home and four minutes later Wade McKay leveled the scores. Ten minute from time Tom Crossland fired home his second and the winner for the visitors

The new date for the Merstham vs. Camberley match has already been re-organised by the League and will now take place on Tuesday, January 16th 2007. Kick Off will be at 7:45pm.

Saturday, November 25th 2006

The first team match at Merstham was called off just after midday following heavy rainstorms over night and during the morning which resulted in the pitch being waterlogged. Only Cobham vs. Wembley survived out of the ten matches scheduled for today

Our pitch is well known locally as being one of the quickest draining pitches anywhere and it proved so again as the reserves match was one of two Suburban South matches to survive the torrent of rain. Camberley should have had the game wrapped up in the first half, creating 3 good chances and missing a penalty before East Grinstead had their first shot on target. Camberley finally wore down their opponents to score the winner on 81 minutes when Graham Townsend fired home.

Wednesday, November 22nd 2006

The Allied Counties side played in the inaugural Grant McLellan Youth trophy organised by the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League this evening. Camberley performed below par in the first round first leg match at Krooner Park and were beaten by Dorking 2-0 with both goals coming before the half time break. The second leg takes place at Dorking on December 13th

Camberley Town Veterans team played their first ever match this evening when Ascot United paid a visit to Krooner Park. In a close match facing a team featuring former Krooner Willie Graham, Camberley played well and came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw. Willie Graham opened the scoring for the visitors on 40 minutes. Camberley hit back just after the break with a glancing header. Ascot regained the lead on 70 minutes but with 9 minutes left Camberley leveled again with a 30 yard screamer. A second fixture is planned for January (once the players have recovered, it was joked in the bar after the game)

Sunday, November 19th 2006

Camberley will be away to Wrecclesham in the Aldershot Senior Cup 2nd Round after Wrecclesham won a penalty shoot out against Four Marks yesterday. The match between the two sides finished 1-1 after extra time. If Wrecclesham do not have floodlights, the match could be switched to Krooner Park. A date for the game has yet to be arranged but is due to be played by December 16th.

Saturday, November 18th 2006

A poor first half gave Cove the upper hand in this local derby. A foul in the penalty area led to Cove taking the lead after 24 minutes. John Finneston, clinically converting a penalty. Cove extended their lead on 49 minutes when a corner from the right was driven home by Jeff Cavey. Camberley reduced the deficit on 80 minutes after Mitch While set up John Swift for his first goal for the club. Paul Dadson and Chris Bazen both hit the woodwork for Camberley but an equaliser was not forthcomming. REPORT

The Reserves slipped to their third successive defeat in a tough run of matches. They were unable to reproduce the win they had at Tooting & Mitcham last season and were beaten 4-0 by a side looking for a top three spot

Wednesday, November 15th 2006

The Allied Counties side remain top of the South Division following a thrilling 3-3 draw against Alton Town. Jason Reeves gave Camberley a 33rd minute lead and Alan White added a second with a superb solo goal three minutes late. Alton fought back and Steve Brown narrowed the deficit a minute before the break. Alton went at Camberley at the start of the second half and levelled through a Sam Carpenter penalty on 65 minutes and then took the lead with ten minutes remaining through James Carroll. With only 4 minutes left on the clock, Camberley levelled things again with Alex Jeffers scoring with a lob over the keeper, thus preventing the visitors leapfrogging Camberley into top spot in the league. Camberley made their exit at the first hurdle in the Surrey Senior Cup but put in a decent performance against a side two rungs further up the non-league ladder. Walton & Hersham made their way into the next round thanks to a 22nd minute goal from Dan Summers who was on hand to fire home following a surging run by Ben Thorne. Mitch While and Paul Dadson had Camberley's best chances but both were denied by good keeping from Nick Gindre in the Walton & Hersham goal. REPORT

Camberley won a much needed three points with their trip to Dorking. Camberley achieved the break through on 26 minutes when a Nick White free kick was met with a diving header from the oldest player on the pitch, Paul Dadson and steered into the bottom left hand corner of the net. With just over an hour gone of the match, Camberley midfielder John Swift received his marching orders for two bookable offences. Dorking pressed for the remaining time, dominating for long periods but Camberley held on for the victory. REPORT

The Reserves had a tough task in their League Cup 2nd Round match as they were drawn against Premier Division League leaders Sutton United. Camberley gave a good account of themselves in the first half and only conceded a goal just before the break. Sutton United proved too powerful and following a second goal early in the second half, did not look like relinquishing the lead. Three further goals were added to give the Premier Division side a 5-0 win.

Friday, November 10th 2006

It has been announced that the Surrey Senior Cup tie against Walton & Hersham will take place next Tuesday, November 14th. The Surrey Senior Cup takes precedence over the El Records Premier Cup and replaces the match against North Greenford United which will be scheduled for a later date. The Colliers Wood match that was called off on November 7th will now take place on November 28th. On the player front, 1st team manager Paul Barry has continued to strengthen his squad with the signing of Jason Milletti, who rejoins the club following a spell here last season. He is expected to feature in tomorrow's trip to Dorking.

Thursday, November 9th 2006

Despite suffering the blow of losing Jack Naerger after 1 minute through injury, Camberley's Allied Counties League side bounced back to win 4-1 at Andover. Jack's replacement Jason Reeves opened the scoring for Camberley midway through the first half. The game could have gone either way at half time but two quick goals early in the second half from David Clarke saw Camberley open a winning margin. Jason Reeves struck again with five minutes to go to put the 'icing on the cake'.

Tuesday, November 7th 2006

Camberley's Surrey Senior Cup match at Walton & Hersham lasted just 30 minutes. The fog had descended prior to kick off and had not got worse but the officials were unable to have a clear view of play and it was decided to abandon the match. The Walton officials with their local knowledge of the weather did ask the referee if they could wait ten minutes to see if the fog would lift (which it did) but were told that the referee's decision was final. A new date for the tie has yet to be announced.

Saturday, November 4th 2006

Disappointment again for Camberley. Camberley took on bottom place Bedfont and looked to be on their way to victory when Sam Broadbent scored his first goal for the club on 44 minutes to give Camberley the lead. Camberley had chances to add to the score before finally making it 2-0 on 71 minutes from the penalty spot. Sam Broadbent had been tripped in the penalty area and Tom McGarry slotted home from the spot. A mixture of a dramatic fightback and lapse defending saw Bedfont take all three points with three goals in the final eight minutes of the match with Kenrick Harriott, Leon Redhead and Grzegorz Wegrzyn scoring. REPORT

The reserves travelled to Croydon Athletic's ground to take on AFC Wimbledon, the unbeaten league leaders with just a bare 11 players after three players pulled out of the side during the morning. Despite that Camberley put in a good battling performance and had a number of chances to get on the scoresheet but finally fell to a single goal defeat. 1-0 was a creditable result against a side that has hit 40 goals in just 9 matches

Wednesday, November 1st 2006

Camberley's Allied Counties side suffered their biggest home league defeat since joining the Allied Counties League. Binfield thoroughly deserves their win after an outstanding second half performance. The first half saw both sides create chances to take the lead but it remained goal less at the break. Binfield opened the scoring just two minutes into the second half and went on to add a further five goals at regular intervales to run out 6-0 winners and avenged the 6-0 defeat they suffered here at Krooner Park last season

Tuesday, October 31st 2006

1st Team manager Paul Barry announced another new signing this evening. John Swift, a left sided midfielder joins Camberley from Uxbridge and is expected to make his debut at home to Befont this coming weekend.

After a first half where both sides had chances to score and neither did, the visitors Chertsey stepped up a gear in the second half to run out comfortable winners. A header five minutes into the second half from John Pomroy set them on their way. Scott Wadge added a second on 63 minutes and a decisive third from Steve Baker made sure Chertsey ran out deserved 3-0 winners. MATCH REPORT

Wednesday, October 25th 2006

Next Tuesday night's match against Walton & Hersham in the Surrey Senior Cup has been called off as our opponents drew in the F.A. Trophy at the weekend and their replay against Great Wakering Rovers takes precedence. The game looks set to be played on November 7th, subject to conformation. This will take the place of the scheduled league match against Colliers Wood United which is due on that evening. A replacement date for the Colliers Wood match has yet to be arranged.

Tuesday, October 24th 2006

1st Team manager Paul Barry has added two further members to the first team squad this week. Gavin Mernagh has signed from Beaconsfield SYCOB but the former Chertsey man will not feature this weekend against his former club as he injured his back his first training session. The other new signing is former Frimley Green player, Scott Brighty, who has signed from Reading Town. Paul is also presently looking at a couple of midfielders to strengthen that department. Jon Holman looks unlikely to re-appear in a Camberley shirt again after being made redundant recently and will also be flying off to Australia in the near future

Monday, October 23rd 2006

After a victory at Alton in the League last week, the U18 Allied Counties side returned to the Bass Alton ground for a Hampshire Floodlit Youth Cup tie. It was not to be a repeat performance as Alton grabbed a first minute lead and quickly added a second. Camberley fought back with goals either side of the half time break through Jack Naerger and Dave Clarke but Alton hit three further goals to win 5-2. Sam Carpenter was the Alton man of the match, hitting 4 goals

Saturday, October 21st 2006

Disappointment for Camberley. After opening up a two goal first half lead they were eventually held 2-2 by a resilient and hard working Cobham. Camberley took the lead after just 6 minutes when Adam Galvin's long range effort deceived the Cobham keeper. Camberley extended their lead on 20 minutes with a Rob Dixon header but only after Mitch While had a goal disallowed for a handball. Cobham fought back and narrowed the lead just before half time with a close range Nick Tooley effort. Cobham deserved their equaliser for their second half effort and it came ten minutes from time when Ryan Anderson curled a shot past a crowd of defenders and past an unsighted Carl Clayton. The good news for Camberley was that four of the five sides immediately above us (Egham, Sandhurst, Merstham and Wembley) all lost and we also retain our eighth place. REPORT

For the second time inside a month, Camberley Reserves traveled to Merstham and came away with a victory. Today's match, a Suburban League fixture saw Camberley win 2-1 and jump up four places into seventh place in the table. Match details to follow

Wednesday, October 18th 2006

There has been a few changes in the fixture list for November. The home match scheduled for November 18th against Colliers Wood United has been brought forward to November 7th due to Colliers Wood United's participation in the F.A. Carlsberg Vase. One week later on November 14th, Camberley will entertain North Greenford United in the El Records Premier Challenge Cup 3rd Round. Both matches will kick off at 7:45pm. The vacant November 18th slot has been filled as well with the Boxing Day game against Cove being brought forward as both sides had the Saturday free. Kick off on Saturday November 18th is at 3:00pm.

Camberley's Allied Counties U-18 side won their third game in a row last night at Alton Town. Jack Naerger scored the all important goal that sent Camberley three points clear at the top of the division. Camberley travel to Alton again next Monday to participate in the Hampshire Midweek Floodlit Youth Cup. This fixture replaces the original scheduled next Wednesday against Bisley Sports.

Saturday, October 14th 2006

Camberley produced their biggest win of the season after they wore down Raynes Park Vale at Krooner Park. Chris Bazen was clattered in the penalty area after 11 minutes and Tom McGarry stepped up to convert the penalty to give Camberley the lead. Mitch While extended the lead with a header just before the break. Two further goals from Mitch While within the space of eight second half minutes saw him register his second first team hat-trick of his career and open a 4-1 lead for Camberley. The sending off one of their own defenders seemed to fire up Raynes Park Vale up and they pulled a goal back. Camberley put the result beyond doubt with a fifth goal from substitute Jamie Hoppitt with a couple of minutes remaining. REPORT

It was always going to be a difficult fixture against Tonbridge who are well known for their excellent home form over the past few seasons and once again proved too difficult to break down. The Reserves put in another decent performance, taking the lead through a Danny Harrison goal, but were outgunned in the end, losing 3-1

Thursday, October 12th 2006

Camberley Under 18's went level on points with top side Binfield after a comfortable 4-1 win at AFC Newbury. Dave Clarke opened the scoring for Camberley and further goals from Alex Jeffers, Jack Naerger and another from Dave Clarke saw Camberley go into a 4-0 lead before the half time break. AFC Newbury came out with more purpose in the second half as Camberley also took their 'foot off the pedal' and pulled a goal back.

Part two of the trilogy of matches took place at Krooner Park today. This match saw more goal mouth action as Camberley were held to a draw. Walton Casuals had the better of the early stages and took a two goal lead but Camberley Reserves have shown more resilience this season and battled back with two strikes from Graham Townsend to force a 2-2 draw

Wednesday, October 4th 2006

The Allied Counties side bounced back to winning ways this evening with a 3-0 win over Hartley Wintney in the league. Camberley opened the scoring on 25 minutes through an excellent finish by Dave Clarke. The lead was extended five minutes before the half time break through Sam Wilson and Jack Naerger completed the scoring on 57 minutes. The win takes Camberley up into second place in the table. REPORT

Tuesday, October 3rd 2006

Camberley Town Reserves put in a good battling performance at Walton Casuals in the Surrey Premier Cup but narrowly lost out 1-0. The goal came about after a crossfield ball was intercepted and allowed Walton Casuals to break from midfield and Matt Weston tucked the ball home for the hosts. This was the first of three games in a row against Walton Casuals. We face them at home in the league this weekend and away again on the 14th. REPORT

A below par performance in the first half saw Camberley go in at the break a goal behind as Michael Peacock poked home a flick on after 44 minutes with the Camberley defence failing to react. Things got worse in the second half as North Greenford extended the lead on 47 minutes through Michael Reed. Camberley's fightback was triggered following the sending off of North Greenford's Dwayne Bryant and a double substitution. Camberley pulled a goal back on 74 minutes when substitute Rob Lance headed home and eight minutes later, one of the other substitutes, Jamie Hoppitt levelled the scores. Two minutes from time Camberley clinched victory from the jaws of defeat with an Adam Galvin shot that went in off the underside of the bar REPORT

After their recent good form, the Reserves were favourites to take the points against struggling Epsom & Ewell in the Suburban League. Camberley took the lead in the first half, but were hit by a second half fight back that saw Epsom come back and clinch a 2-1 win. Graham Townsend scoring again for the Reserves

A win this evening by two clear goals would have seen Camberley's Allied Counties squad go to the top of the South Division table but instead they were hit for six by an eager Hungerford side. The home side took the spoils with a 6-2 win but Camberley's David Clarke kept his excellent scoring run going by hitting both of the Camberley goals. The defeat saw Camberley drop from third to fifth as Hungerford and Bisley (on goal difference) move above Camberley.

Once again in an F.A. competition Camberley failed to shine. Defensive lapses, one in each half saw Sussex League side Haywards Heath Town leave with victory and send Camberley tumbling out of this season's F.A. Carlsberg Vase. Camberley's performance was disappointing as they lost 2-0. Haywards Heath Town now meet either Mile Oak or Hailsham in the 1st Round. We wish them luck. REPORT

Camberley Reserves put a smile back on the Krooner faces following the Vase defeat as news filtered through of their 1-0 away win at Merstham in the Suburban League Cup 1st Round. Graham Townsend once again was on target as Camberley earned themselves a home tie against Sutton United in the 2nd Round

Wednesday, September 20th 2006

Camberley's Under 18's got over last weeks F.A. Youth Cup defeat against Chertsey with a 2-1 win over AFC Newbury at Krooner Park. Camberley went behind in the first half but bounced back in the second with two goals from defender turned striker David Clarke. Clarke has now hit five in his past three games to become the club's leading scorer in competitive matches this season.

Tuesday, September 19th 2006

Camberley climbed up into eighth after securing a 0-0 draw at local rivals Sandhurst Town. Camberley could have won it with the best chance of the night just before the half time break when Martyn Williams reactions were not quick enough as he put a chance over the bar from close range.

Camberley Reserves went one better than the first team as a Graham Townsend goal secured their fourth win of the season and elevated the side  up a couple of places in the table. It was Graham's third in two games.

Camberley registered a much needed win against 3rd place Egham Town. Camberley earned a penalty for the third match in a row after just 5 minutes. Tom McGarry stepped up to slot home what turned out to be the winner. Egham Town were reduced to ten men before the break but to their credit they continued to cause Camberley problems but we managed to clinch the three points and climb back up to 10th in the table.

Camberley Reserves put in a good performance but it was insufficient to gat a share of the points. Burgess Hill were determined to bounce back from a midweek defeat to Tooting & Mitcham and claimed a 3-1 win. Rob Lance was on target for Camberley.

It is with great sadness that we hear that Dave Wilson, Hon. Secretary of our long time friends and rivals in the Ryman League and now in the Combined Counties League, Epsom & Ewell, passed away yesterday following a stroke on Wednesday evening following a youth team match. Camberley Town F.C. wish to send our deepest condolences to Dave's family and to Epsom & Ewell FC in these difficult times. A minutes silence will be held before our match on Saturday against Egham Town.

Paul Barry has strengthened his squad by signing striker Dean Thomas who has just been released by Ryman Premier Division side Hendon. Dean joined Hendon at the start of the season from Brook House. Dean will be in contention for a place against Sandhurst Town on Tuesday

Camberley exited the F.A Youth Cup at the first hurdle in a close entertaining duel against Chertsey Town at Krooner Park. Camberley took the lead after 7 minutes curtesy of a superb strike from Jack Naerger but Chertsey hit back with two goals in the final ten minutes of the first half from Zac Dadzie and Scott Harrison to give them what ended up being a winning lead. Despite their efforts in the second half Camberley could not breach the Chertsey defence again and the visitors held onto their 2-1 lead to progress into the next round. REPORT

Tuesday, September 12th 2006

Camberley's chances of taking points at Chressington & Hook looked good at half-time but two goals in the space of a minute put paid to Camberley's chances. Neil Wicks struck twice in quick succession two minutes into the second half to put the hosts in a good position. Camberley pulled a goal back in the 88th minute after Sam Broadbent had been taken down inside the penalty area. Paul Dadson had his the spot kick saved but Chessington keeper Matt Mann was deemed to have moved off his line before the ball was struck. The retaken penalty was taken by Tom McGarry and he made no mistake in tucking it away. Camberley looked for an equaliser in the few minutes remaining but unfortunately for Camberley it was not enough to deny Chessington a 2-1 win. REPORT

Camberley's first team progressed into the last 16 of the El Records Premier Challenge Cup (The League Cup) with a comfortable 3-0 win at Chobham. With the number of chances created, Camberley could have doubled that score. David Hancock opened the scoring on 17 minutes but we had to wait until the 66th minute before Adam Galvin extended the lead. Martyn WIlliams completed the scoring from the penalty spot after being tripped in the area. REPORT

The Reserves matched the first team in their Suburban League game at home to Horley, they also won 3-0. The win moves Camberley up to 6th in the table. Graham Townsend notched his first two goals of the season and Sam Jeffries completed the scoring for the Krooners

Wednesday, September 6th 2006

The Reserves suffered their first away defeat of the season as they fell to a 4-1 defeat at Raynes Park Vale. Camberley's sole goal coming from Sam Jeffries.

Camberley opened their home campaign in the U18 Allied Counties League with a win over 'new boys' Andover, 4-0. Dave Clarke was the Camberley hero on the night scoring the opening two goals and a third from Alan White gave Camberley a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break. Clarke then completed his hat-trick ten minutes from time.

Tuesday, September 5th 2006

For the second match running we have seen an entertaining 1st team match which has ended with no goals. Wembley keeper Lee Pearce was the busier of the two keepers saving four times in the first twenty five minutes. Camberley did get the ball in the net twice. The first one, A Paul Dadson header, was ruled out for offside and the secondly, more controversially was to award a free kick to Camberley, just outside the penalty area for a handball by the Wembley keeper, as Dan Ker was slotting the ball into the net. The second half saw both sides with chances but neither could unlock the opposing defences. REPORT

Saturday, September 2nd 2006

Camberley Reserves made it two wins out of three with a 5-1 win over Haywards Heath. The result was a little unfair on the opposition who were still in the game on 74 minutes with the score at 2-1. Haywards Heath opened the scoring in the first minute, but Camberley hit back to level things on 14 minutes through Lindsey Strangwick. Camberley took the lead with a James Goff penalty after Rob Lance was brought down in the penalty area. Strangwick was on hand again to add Camberley's third on 76 minutes. Camberley scored twice more in the final three minutes through Alex Jeffers and a last minute own goal. REPORT

Wednesday, August 30th 2006

Camberley suffered a narrow defeat at Bracknell's Larges Lane against the favourites for the South Division title, Binfield. After a goal less first half, a momentary lapse early in the second half allowed Binfield to take the lead. The best move of the game involving Chris Bazen and Harry Oakley saw Alex Jeffers notch Camberley's equaliser. It needed a superb strike from Dixon to win the game for Binfield, five minutes from the end.

Tuesday, August 29th 2006

Camberley can consider themselves a little unlucky not to have notched a second win in the Suburban League against Molesey. Camberley had the better of the chances but were unable to finish them. Adam Roberts, who was outstanding for the first 89 minutes, gave away a free kick on the left in the final minute. Unfortunately the free kick was headed home by a Molesey defender to snatch all three points

Monday, August 28th 2006

After Saturday's defeat, Camberley arrived at Youngs Drive determined to keep a clean sheet and gain at least a point and they achieved their goal. Both sides had their chances in this 0-0 draw. Shaun Mitchell did get the ball in the net for Ash but the referee had already blown his whistle for a foul. Camberley's best chance on target fell to Mitch While but former Krooner keeper Chris Andrews was on hand to save for Ash. The point leaves Camberley in a mid-table 12th place.

Saturday, August 26th 2006

Camberley went into the game with hopes of maintaining their 100% home record. Thos hopes were quickly demolished in the opening half hour by a clinical Chipsted. Lee Sidwell, Don Oakins, Steve Boswell and a couple of goals from the leagues leading scorer, Bradley Drake saw Chipstead race into a 5-0 lead. It was the worst start to a game that Camberley had suffered at Krooner since the early 60's. Camberley improved in the second half pulling a goal back from Mitch While after 47 minutes. Former Epsom & Ewell player Chad Heuston added a sixth late on for the visitors.

Tuesday, August 22nd 2006

Camberley made it two home wins on the trot with a 2-1 win over Guildford City. Camberley were given a 10th minute lead when Mitch While lobbed a loose ball over the Guildford keeper. Despite a number of other chances, Camberley had to wait until the 57th minute before extending their lead through a Martyn Williams shot. Guildford City hit back with a minute left on the clock to make it 2-1 but Camberleuy held on to their lead.

The reserves made it a good day for the club, also winning 2-1 against Godalming Town. Camberley 's first goal came from a deflection from a free kick and was officially classified as an own goal. Sam Jeffries made it two for Camberley. Keeper Chris Foster was sent off with three minutes left on the clock. Gary-Lee Pierce took over the keeping duties for the final few minutes as Camberley comfortably held on for a win

Sunday, August 20th 2006

The reserve fixture originally arranged for next Saturday, August 26th at Lewes has been postponed. Camberley's first home fixture in the Suburban League will be on August 29th at home to Molesey.

Saturday, August 19th 2006

Camberley Town's affair with the F.A. Cup this season lasted just 90 minutes this season as the Krooner's made a disappointing exit from the tournament with a 3-0 defeat at Sport Italia Hellenic League side Abingdon Town. Tom Larman was the hero for the home side as he hit a hat-trick to send the Oxfordshire side through to play Chertsey Town in the next round. Larman opened the scoring on 20 minutes and then added a second 13 minutes later. He completed his hat-trick on 80 minutes to end any possible comeback for Camberley. With Chessington & Hook qualifying for the next round by beating Mile Oak 3-1, our league match with them on September 2nd has been cancelled and has been re-arranged for Tuesday, September 12th

Thursday, August 17th 2006

Camberley Town were due to open their league season at home to Raynes Park Vale but due to the requirement of extra officials for this weekend's opening round of the F.A. Cup, the league have been unable to provide officials for this match and the match has been cancelled. Camberley now start their Suburban League campaign at Godalming Town on Tuesday night.

Wednesday, August 16th 2006

The Under 18's gained revenge on behalf of the Reserves as they beat Uxbridge Under 18's at Krooner Park this evening. In a very entertaining game, Camberley took a first half lead through a Jake Griggs header. Uxbridge pulled a goal back just before the half time break but Alex Jeffers put Camberley two goals clear to clinch a 3-1 win.

Tuesday, August 15th 2006

The first team traveled to Reading Town this evening for their first away match an were unlucky not to have come home with a point. Reading Town started the stronger of the two sides, but Camberley came back into the game. The decisive goal came in the second half and was tinged with a bit of controversy as keeper Carl Clayton vociferously claimed that the ball had been kicked out of his hands before it was fired into the back of the net. REPORT

Despite the large number of byes available in the 1st Round of the Surrey Senior Cup (25 in all), Camberley had the misfortune of being one of the 14 sides who have to play a First Round match and we have been given a tough task. We have to travel away to Walton & Hersham on a date to be arranged somewhere between 16th October and 1st November. The Reserves were also drawn away in the Surrey Premier Cup. They have to travel to the other Walton side, Walton Casuals on October 7th.

Monday, August 14th 2006

Camberley Reserves once again put in a good performance in their friendly, this time against Uxbridge. The game was evenly poised at the half time break at 0-0. Uxbridge though strengthened their side with the introduction of their substitutes and ran out 3-0 winners

Sunday, August 13th 2006

The Under 18's fielding a weakened side due to holidays and work were beaten at Krooner Park 3-2 by close neighbours Cove. Alex Jeffers was on target for Camberley Town once again, scoring both our goals

Saturday, August 12th 2006

Camberley were up against the unknown for the opening match in their first ever Combined Counties League campaign. Bookham were promoted from Division 1 having scored 113 goals and suffered just one away defeat last season, so we knew we were in for a tough afternoon. Mitch While gave Camberley an early lead after 9 minutes. Bookham fought well and had chances to level the scores and did so from the penalty spot just before the hour. The scores stayed level for just four minutes as Mitch While struck again to give Camberley the lead again. Adam Galvin secured the points with a third goal for Camberley on 71 minutes. REPORT

Monday, August 7th 2006

The Reserve XI gave a good account of themselves in a match against a tough Hayes XI, which featured former Camberley Youth player Adam Cornell. Camberley found themselves just a goal behind against the Suburban Premier Division side at the break. Hayes added a second midway through the second half and stuck two late goals to give the scoreline a slightly unfair look about it.

TOURNAMENT
In a close final, Camberley overcame Hillingdon Borough on penalties to win the Plate final. Alex Jeffers gave Camberley the lead with a well taken shot to give Camberley a half time lead. Hillingdon Borough hit back early in the second half. Alex Jeffers was on hand again to beat the offside trap and regain the lead for Camberley only for Hillingdon to equalise again five minutes from time. Camberley's spot kicks were perfect all the way through the shoot out which resulted in a 5-3 win.

Prestwich Heys over 35's took on a Camberley 'Wee Bunnet' over 35 side at Krooner Park this afternoon before taking the long trip home to Manchester. In an entertaining game, the Wee Bunnet XI got the upper hand winning the match 5-3. We wish Prestwich Heys the best of luck this season in their search for a third successive Manchester League title.

Once again the Camberley faithful were witness to a thoroughly entertaining game against Prestwich Heys who journeyed down from Manchester. The match was organised after Prestwich Heys were able to help up with the purchase of turnstiles last season. The match itself saw four goals the visitors twice taking the lead. A solo goal from James Goff levelled things in the first half and a superb 30 yard strike from Wayne Sale saw Camberley go level again in the second half. With a trophy, sponsored by the 'Wee Bunnet' (Celtic supporters Club) who are based at Krooner, the match went to penalties. With the first nine penalties all put away, Camberley missed their last one to allow Prestwich Heys a 5-4 penalty shoot out win.

Camberley's Under 18's have reached the Plate Final at the Arsenal Tournament at the Royal Holloway College in Egham. Daryl Hetzel gave Camberley the lead in the first half. Thursday, August 3rd 2006

Thoroughly entertaining game on a surprisingly good looking Krooner pitch. Bracknell opened the scoring early in the second half after breaking through the Camberley offside trap. Mitch While snatched a late equaliser after racing onto keeper Craig Green's clearance to toe-poke the ball home. Fair result at the end of the day and a good run out for both clubs. It was also confirmed this evening that the friendly next Tuesday against Winchester City has been cancelled.
ARSENAL
TOURNAMENT
The Arsenal Tournament at Egham has not quite gone to plan for the Youth team. We completed the group games this evening. After a 3-2 defeat to Harefield and a 6-0 defeat to Hayes, Camberley lost their third group game against South African side St David's from Seweto by a 3-1 scoreline. Alex Jeffries scoring the goal. Daryl Hetzel scored both the goals in the opening match. Camberley go into the plate semi final on Saturday.

Tuesday, August 1st 2006

Camberley played some good football at times in this friendly and were the better side of the two. Camberley created a lot of chances but only Graham Townsend could put one away in the second half to secure a draw, after Henley had opened the scoring in the first half. Had both sides been wearing their 'scoring boots' it could have ended up 5-3 to Camberley. Mitch While and Sam Rafique twice, missed close range efforts and Graham Townsend also hit the crossbar.

Saturday, July 29th 2006

A great deal better this weekend. Camberley traveled to 2000 F.A. Vase winners Deal Town of the Kent League with just one out of the six strikers we have had training with us. The performance was probably our best of pre season so far and resulted in a 2-0 win with Paul Dadson and Graham Purdey scoring the goals. As with the Rayners Lane game, the match finished early due to 2 injuries. Adam Roberts was ours. He required 5 stitches in a head wound.

Tuesday, July 25th 2006

Traveled to a team who are looking to win the Wessex League this season. At an impressive Gosport Borough set up, Camberley came up against a team with a budget nearly 10 times greater than ours. Gosport over ran us in the first half. We improved in the second but went down to a heavy 9-0 defeat. We had one really bad defeat last season at Woking. Hopefully this is the one for this season.

Monday, July 24th 2006

Congratulations to the Camberley Town Youth Managers Veterans team who traveled over to Wokingham & Embrook at the weekend for their Over 35's tournament and won it, beating the Binfield Old Gits 2-0 and Rotherfield Vets 1-0 on the way and then beat the Green Man Has-Beens 2-0 in the final

Saturday, July 22nd 2006

Camberley continued their pre-season warm up with two matches at Rayners Lane. The Reserves lost out in the first match 3-0 and the 1st team squad lost 1-0 in the second match. The first team match did not go the full distance. The match came to a premature finish after one of the home team players required lengthy treatment and it was decided to call an early finish to the game

Following a vist to Westfield's Woking Park ground by an F.A. delegation on Friday, July 7th, Westfield seem to have retained their Premier Division spot despite losing their appeal with the F.A. due to lack of grounds for appeal. The league were ask by the F.A. to look again at the ground sharing arrangements which is what they are presently doing. The F.A. are stressing that a temporary ground share is OK as long as the work is completed by the end of the season. Westfield look almost certain to be re-instated into the Premier Division. The League will report on their findings later this week. It could also mean a reprieve for Frimley Green

The status of the constitution of the league has now been changed to provisionally accepted. A delay in the releasing of fixtures is now inevitable after Westfield FC have put in an appeal against being placed in Division 1 with the Football Association. A date for the appeal has yet to be arranged, but as the F.A. Cup draw has been delayed due to England's continued participation in the World Cup it is expected that this will be delayed as well.

Wednesday, June 28th 2006

This evening saw the Combined Counties League AGM at Met Police's Imber Court ground. After a couple of hours of heart rendering and sometimes acrimonious discussion, the proposed constitution of 22 teams for the Premier Division was accepted. Division 1 was confirmed with just 21 clubs. The 22nd club, Kings Meadow from Kingston were not accepted as their present ground was insufficient and the planned groundshare at Chertsey Town was not in place early enough. The divisions will be as follows.

PREMIER DIVISION (22 clubs) : Ash United, Banstead Athletic, Bedfont, Bedfont Green, Bookham, Camberley Town, Chertsey Town, Chessington & Hook United, Chipstead, Cobham, Colliers Wood United, Cove, Dorking, Egham Town, Epsom & Ewell, Guildford City (formerley Guildford United), Merstham, North Greenford United, Raynes Park Vale, Reading Town, Sandhurst Town and Wembley.

DIVISION 1 (21 Clubs) : CB Hounslow United, Chobham, Coney Hall, Coulsden Town (formerly Netherne), Crescent Rovers, Farleigh Rovers, Farnham Town, Feltham, Frimley Green, Hanworth Villa, Hartley Wintney, Horley Town, Merrow, Salfords (formerly Monotype), Sheerwater, South Park, Staines Lammas, Tongham, Warlingham, Westfield and Worcester Park.

League Cup and League Fixtures to follow at a later date. F.A. Cup and F.A. Vase draws have been slightly delayed this year due to England's continued participation in the World Cup and are due out on the 7th of July. The Surrey Senior Cup draw will be made in early August

RESTRUCTURING

The proposed constitution for the Combined Counties for the 2006/2007 season has been released and can be found at www.combinedcountiesleague.co.uk/news.html. Along with the seven former Ryman sides entering the league, Bookham have been placed in the Premier Division after finishing third in Division 1. Frimley Green and  Westfield have been placed in Division 1 as it seen that the groundshares designed to maintain their status have not been permitted under an F.A. directive. Farnham and Feltham seem to have been relegated on their finishing position and Horley's ground, nice as it is, does not pass the ground grading. There will no doubt be a few appeals. The constitution is due to be ratified at the AGM on June 28th.

RESTRUCTURING

It has been reported that the Combined Counties League will release a press release tomorrow containing the proposed constitution of the two divisions for next season.

Sunday, June 11th 2006

The proposed constitution for the Allied Counties League has been released. It looks as though both Ash United and Farnham Town have pulled out of the South Division and Thatcham Town have been promoted. As the Premier Division ran one club short last season, no one has been relegated to the South Division. Three new clubs look set to come in. They are Andover, Hartley Wintney and Bisley Sports. The full list for the South Division is as follows :- AFC Newbury (there is some doubt here as AFC Newbury have reportedly lost their Faraday Road ground and are presently looking for a ground share), Alton Town, Andover, Binfield, Bisley Sports, Bracknell Town, Camberley Town, Hartley Wintney, Hungerford Town and Reading Town .

END OF SEASON AWARDS CEREMONY AND DINNER

Camberley held their successful end of season award in the plush surroundings of the Green Room at Pine Ridge Golf Club, Frimley this evening. The event attended by just over 80 people saw the awards evenly shared out.

The first presentations went to the Under 18 Youth side which were presented by Eric Howard and Ron Gray. Assistant manager Alan Kennedy was away in Holland with Camberley Town Youth. David Hancock and Dean Frampton were given special achievement awards after starting the season in the Youth side and ended it playing regular first team football. Alan White collected the Most Improved Player. The Players Player of the Season went to David Clark and the Managers Player of the Season was collected by Andy Scott. Special thanks were given to Ron Gray for his tireless work for the Youth team throughout the season.

Eric Howard, this time with the help of Keith Benjamin then presented the awards for the Reserve team. Mick Hatton would also have been involved but was unable to attend due to his taxi breaking down in the heart of London this afternoon. The two main awards saw Adam Roberts collect the Players Player of the Season and Dean Frampton, the Managers Player of the Season. Andy Scott picked up the Supporters Player of the Season. There were also awards for Samir Rafique (top goalscorer) and Ben Acton (Most Improved Player). Luke Tuffs picked up a special award, having attended almost every training session in his four years at the club. Luke will be moving on to pastures new at the start of next season.

The 1st team awards opened with some humourous awards. Sam Rafique collecting the Worst dressed player award. Adam Galvin, calves of the year. Paul Dadson, for the impressive moves on the dance floor, given his age, got Dancer of the Year. Wobbly of the year went to Martyn Williams for his tantrum at Hertford. His teddy, toys and dummy, collected from the Hertford pitch made up his award. On a serious note, Graham Townsend picked up an award after winning the end of season Penalty King competition. Top Goalscorer award went to Martyn Williams. The rest of the first team awards almost became the Dan Ker show, as he collected both the Managers Player and the Players Player of the Season awards but was just pipped at the post by Paul Dadson for the Supporters Player of the Season.

Last but not least, the Club awards were presented by Chairman Ian Waldren. The first award given was the Chairman's Player of the Season and it went to Martyn Williams. Two Special Awards from the Surrey F.A. followed and these were awarded to Harry Lynch and Andrew Vaughan for 15 years service on the Club's committee. Harry Lynch then picked up a second award, jointly with Mick Horler as Clubmen of the Year. Before the next award Ian Waldren was happy to announce that the Club had secured and signed a 25 year lease on Krooner Park with the local council and also the the Youth set-up had achieved Charter Status with the F.A. This is a big step forward for the club who can now progress with the development of the Club, both on and off the field. The final two awards were then presented. The first was a special award for recognition of services to the club which was presented to Ben Clifford. The final and most prestigious award - the Chairman's Award went to Ron Gray.

RESTRUCTURING
At the League's officers meeting on Monday the seven Ryman clubs were 'rubber stamped' into the Combined Counties League. Hellenic League side Hounslow Borough also put in an application to join the league but this was turned down. Hounslow Borough will compete in the Hellenic Premier Division after winning the Hellenic Division One East title last season. AFC Wallingford will not be joining us in the Combined Counties Premier Division after finishing runners-up in Division 1. Both the Combined Counties League and the Hellenic League have agreed that they will move across and join the Hellenic Premier Division next season. At the F.A. yesterday, in an hour long meeting, Merstham's appeal over their ground grading was turned down. They had hoped to clinch a place in Ryman Division 1 South but they will now be playing Combined Counties football next season.

The constitution of the two divisions of the Combined Counties will be confirmed at the Combined Counties League AGM which takes place on 28th June 2006.

RESTRUCTURING
News filtered through just after 3 p.m. this afternoon that six clubs from the disbanding Ryman Division 2 are joining the Combined Counties League They are Camberley Town, Chertsey Town, Egham Town, Epsom & Ewell, Dorking & Wembley. Banstead Athletic, who resigned from Division 1 have also been placed in the league. Croydon have been placed in the Kent League and Clapton in the Essex League. The remaining five sides, Hertford Town, Flackwell Heath, Chalfont St Peter, Edgware Town and Kingsbury Town are joining the Spartan South Midlands League. With AFC Wallingford gaining promotion from Division 1 as runners-up and Mole Valley Predators (disbanding), Southall (omited) and Godalming Town (promoted), the Combined Counties League have yet to decide which five sides will be making way for the incoming sides. This will probably be done on a ground grading basis with clubs with a Combined Counties C grading making way. One of the favourites to go unfortunately is Frimley Green, denying us one of a number of local derbies. From the world of fact and into the world of rumours, Warlingham, Champions of the Combined Counties Division One, who failed to get the necessary grading on their ground, have been reported to have made a last minute attempt to gain promotion through a possible ground share with Croydon. The agreement though is a verbal one and nothing has been signed. One rumour abound is that Horley Town have applied to join the Sussex League but there is no conformation of this either.
