Camberley made it two wins in a row
and moved up to 8th place in the table with this win over Raynes
Park Vale. Camberley went at their opponents right from the
start and took the lead on 11 minutes from the penalty spot
after Raynes Park Vale keeper Ed Cornwell had clattered into
Chris Bazen as he attempted a lob at goal. Tom McGarry calmly
slotted home the penalty. The lead was extended in the 39th
minute when Mitch While got in front of his marker to head home
his first of the afternoon.
Camberley were a little slow out of the blocks in the second half and this allowed Paynes Park Vale to pull a goal back through their leading scorer, Marco Torino, who beat the Camberley offside trap to calmly slot the ball past Carl Clayton. Camberley, not to be denied, re-established their two goal lead just before the hour when Mitch While rifled a shot into the top right hand corner of the net from 20 yards. On 63 minutes Mitch While completed his hat-trick, this time evading his marker and firing into the top left hand corner from just inside the right hand edge of the penalty area. Danny Stevens over zealous complaint to the referee in appealing for offside after the goal was given resulted in him receiving a second yellow car and his marching orders. The sending of seemed to fire up 10 man Raynes Park Vale and they pulled a goal back on 68 minutes with an excellent finish from Gary Knowelden which Camberley keeper Carl Clayton got a hand to but could not keep out. There could have been a second red card for the visitors in the 88th minute as Paul Stevens broke through for Camberley and with just the keeper to beat he was brought down from behind by defender Nick Cossar but the referee waved play on. In the confusion the ball was cleared only as far as Jamie Hoppitt and he kept a cool head to run through the Raynes Park Vale defence and slot home Camberley's fifth.
