Camberley completed what in the end was a comfortable victory. Style wise there was not a lot of difference between the two sides as both were trying to play football on the ground and it proved quite entertaining. The difference at the end of the day was that Camberley's passing was more accurate and their shooting, a little more lethal. After shading the possession for the first 25 minutes, Camberley took the lead with an excellent strike from David Clarke, who received the ball 20 yards out, swiveled and the let loose a shot the keeper had not chance of stopping as it entered the top right hand corner of the net. Camberley extended their lead five minutes or so before the half time break. From a similar distance as the first goal, defender Sam Wilson struck a shot which looked as if the keeper would gather comfortably but a misjudgment of the flight of the ball saw it pass between the keepers gloves and nestle in the back of the net. The second half saw Camberley more on top but Hartley Wintney did have their moments. The game was put beyond the reach of the visitors on the hour mark as Jack Naerger surged into the penalty area, riding one challenge which saw the ball bounce nicely off his shins into a position where he could strike a low shot past the keeper. Camberley kept up the pressure in an effort to add further goal. A late substitution saw the return of lead strike Alex Jeffers who had been out a month with injury and he caused the visitors problems down the right hand side, but Camberley could not breach the Hartley Wintney defence again. |
